The professional CODM esports team conquered the entirety of the tournament with impeccable gunplay.
After an unexpected delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ESL Malaysia Championship 2020 Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) Season 1 Playoffs returned with guns blazing from all four corners (or teams). Needless to say, the CODM tournament culminated in a historical conclusion, which saw 21Huntsmen emerging as its first-ever winning team.
In the Grand Finals last Saturday (11 Apr), 21Huntsmen took down Rampage in a heart-pounding 3-0 match play, with the latter team almost gaining the upper hand in Game 2 before being cancelled out by the huntsmen. Aside from that slight bump, no one throughout the tournament has come close to beating the champion team, with 21Huntsmen taking down the opposing teams left and right before figuratively lifting the championship trophy. Even 21Huntsmen’s Wenn took home the MVP title for his excellent gameplay, positioning and gun picks, especially in the upper bracket finals against defending champions, Axis Esports, in which they also won 3-0.
For their outstanding performance, the champion team won the spoils of RM20,000 and JBL goodies to up their game.
Sponsored by Yoodo and JBL, the Playoffs for the ESL Malaysia Championship 2020 CODM Season 1 were supposed to be held on 21 Mar at Battle Arena Malaysia before being postponed for the safety of the community due to COVID-19. Fortunately, news came on 27 Mar that the top four teams – 21Huntsmen, Axis Esports, Rampage and Mysterious VIP – will settle their rivalry in an online format on 11 Apr.
