Anippp and 4Meyz make Todak debut at MPL Invitational 4 Nation Cup

The MPL Invitational 4 Nation Cup, which replaces the cancelled Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC 2020), kicks off today. The three-week tournament will see top teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore play for a US$100,000 prize pool.

It's an opportunity for the teams from each MPL to test their strength against their counterparts in other countries. With two Indonesian teams, EVOS Legends and Rex Regum Qeon, dominating last year's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship M1, it's safe to say that they are tournament favourites.

Another team which performed well at M1 was Malaysia's Todak, who finished third. However, they experienced a slump in MPL-MY/SG, finishing joint 5th. The organisation is seeking to start afresh and is currently undergoing a recruitment phase.

Having been invited to participate in the Group Stage qualifiers, Todak announced that they will be playing with two stand-ins, Anippp and 4Meyz.

For both players, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Having just fallen short of qualifying for MPL-MY/SG Season 5, this could be the big professional break for which they've been waiting. "We're ecstatic that Todak has given us this opportunity to play for them! We can't wait to play at MPLI and show everyone what we can offer."

Anippp will be filling the Marksman role whereas 4Meyz will aim to make the Fighter position his own. Todak manager, Ashi, explained that both players applied to join the team through their "open recruitment." "After considering multiple candidates, we decided that Anippp and 4Meyz are the best players to bring as stand-ins for MPLI 2020."

The players might not have nailed permanent spots in Todak, but if they are able to form strong team cohesion with the existing players, Moon, Xray, Eone and new captain Ciku, they could be the injection of new life the squad sorely needs at this time. If the players integrate well in this short timeframe, the future looks bright.

Ashi hopes that these recent changes will lift the team and performance will improve. "The target we've set for the players going into MPLI is none other than being champions. We know that the journey will be fraught with challenges, both internal and external, but in the past, we have shown that we have spirit and we can exceed expectations."
