Congratulations to Nova Esports on their first win of the year! The squad put on an immaculate performance throughout all three days of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021, especially on day two when they finished with three 2nd places and one Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. While the final day wasn't the best for the squad, their massive lead from the previous day was enough to keep them on top. Nova Esports ended the tournament with a whopping 222 points, a solid 47 points over the second-place Navi.

This marks the second PMGC victory for the Chinese squad (they won PMGC 2020), who were also the winners of the Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2020 - these guys are the most dominant team in the game right now. Well played to Jimmy, Paraboy, Order, Mix6GG, qc, and King. They walk away with USD 1,530,000 - what a chunk of change!

Completing the rest of the leaderboard: we have Nigma Galaxy in 3rd, S2G Esports in 4th, and D'Xavier in 5th. Unfortunately, for Malaysian fans, our representatives, Team Secret and 4Rivals finished 12th and 14th respectively. Extremely middling performances from them despite a few top 4 placements, they're going to have to go back to the drawing board and work on some new strategies.

The biggest surprise was probably Navi who won 3 Chicken Dinners and 2 second place finishes, they showed they have what it takes to hang with the best, unfortunately, Nova Esports was in this tournament. Perhaps they'll get the trophy next time.

What a way to start the weekend for PUBG Mobile fans, PUBG Mobile has announced the launch of patch 1.8.0 today, introducing a whole bunch of new content for the game. Here's what the new update brings:

New Maps - Aftermath: Livik and 8 vs 8 Santorini

Aftermath: Livik is a remastered version of Livik after a 10-year time skip from a nuclear bomb attack on the previous map. Instead of the lush and beautiful scenery, you'll get an ash-covered, abandoned ghost town. On the other hand, Santorini is modelled after the actual Greek Island and will let 16 players duke it out in an 8 vs 8 team deathmatch. There will also be a feature for players to respawn after dying - their teammates will have to locate them and send a signal from the recall tower to give them another chance on the battlefield. There will also be zipline stations for players to travel quickly and supply shops that dispense weapons, ammo and other tactical gear.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

We covered the Spider-Man collab earlier last month and it looks like it's finally here. Players will be able to meet him before jumping off the plane to start the game, and they can get items like the Web Shooter (which lets players run at high speed and swing to the top of buildings), and Spiderweb Ball (to slow enemies down). And of course, there will be cosmetics inspired by the movie as part of the update.

K-Clique MK voice pack

MK of K-Clique's voice pack is finally here! Containing a total of 46 in-game lines, the voice pack will be available from now until 19 January. Fans of the popular rapper will be able to listen to him hype them up, Malaysian style, while playing the game.

If you haven't updated PUBG Mobile or downloaded the game yet, what are you waiting for? PUBG Mobile is available now on Android and iOS.

For those of you tired of cheaters running rampant in PUBG Mobile, it looks like Tencent and Krafton, the creators of the game are doing something about it. They recently announced that the Federal Courts in the United States and Germany have ruled in their favour in their cases against a certain hacking group.

Members of the group, who were behind the creation and distribution of hacks for one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, now have to cease future illegal activities involving game cheating, as well as provide details of how they exploited PUBG Mobile and about any collaborators. On top of that, they have to pay Tencent Games and Krafton $10 million in damages. We're not sure if they made that much money selling the hacks in the first place, but that ought to put a dent in their bank accounts.

This victory is only one of the many lawsuits they have going on right now and it won't be the last. PUBG Mobile will be putting the money back into the game with further development of anti-cheating technology to identify and punish players who utilize such programs.

While this isn't the end of hacking as we know it, it's going to be a major deterrent for the not-so-brave, and will probably scare some folks away from using it. Regardless, it's still steps toward a more level playing field for everyone involved. Hopefully, one day, we can blame all our losses on being outplayed instead of easily obtainable hacks.

The past three days have been one heck of a bloodbath for the best PUBG Mobile teams in the east, thanks to the league finals of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021. It was a close race for the teams competing, with no clear winner in sight until this evening - congratulations to DAMWON Gaming! While they might have lost out at Worlds 2021, this was the first major PUBG Mobile tournament for the organization (the players were previously in Warriors Esports) so they must be pretty ecstatic about the victory.

Coming up short in second place were D'Xavier, a mere 4 points short of the trophy, followed by Stalwart Esports, NOVA Esports, and Nigma Galaxy to round up the top five. The Infinity, who won the League Stage finished in sixth, Six Two Eight in seventh (coincidentally, a number that's not in their name), and Malaysian representatives Team Secret and 4RIVALS to complete the top nine! Despite having no Winner Winner Chicken Dinners, local PUBG Mobile fans are definitely pleased about the news.

These nine teams will move on to the grand finals of the PMGC 2021, where they will be up against the winners of the western side of the tournament, to be determined in a few hours. Congratulations to all the teams involved, we look forward to catching the grand finals on 21-23 January 2022. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more news and updates!

Three Super Weekends have gone by since the start of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: East and the last one concluded last night, with The Infinity at the top of the leaderboard. While they weren't too hot during the weekday stage of the tournament, the Thai squad were on fire during all three Super Weekends, showing off their ability to play consistently. They finished 1st, 2nd and 1st on each week, respectively, earning a total score of 506 - 93 points more than their next highest competitor, Genesis Dogma GIDS. What a great showing from the team.

Making up the rest of the top five are Stalwart Esports, Nigma Galaxy and 4Rivals. While they were nowhere close to The Infinity, they still proved that they were a cut above the rest and sail into the grand finals this coming week. Rounding out the rest of the leaderboard are - MS Chonburi, Six Two Eight, Rico Infinity Team, REJECT, Bigetron RA, Cryptics, Team Secret, DAMWON Gaming, D'Xavier, DRS Gaming and Nova Esports. As with all sports, there are losers, and the following teams won't be going to the final stage of the event, we bid farewell to FaZe Clan, Deadeyes Guys, Tong Jia Bao Esports and BC SWELL.

This week, the true and final test of PMGC 2021: East will take place - all the teams will start with a clean slate, with the previous weeks' points being reset. For this portion of the tournament, the teams will be fighting for a spot in the top 9 in order to proceed to the PMGC 2021: Grand Finals, where they will meet the top 6 teams from PMGC 2021: West. It's going to be a bloodbath, and you can rest assured that the teams will be pulling no punches here. If they save their strats, they won't be getting another chance to unveil them this season, it's all or nothing. They will need to go big or go home.

The PMGC 2021: East League Finals will take place from 22-24 December - the perfect way to start the Christmas holiday. Don't miss the action that will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. Stay tuned for more updates on eGG Network!
