E-racing fans who have been waiting for the esport to be part of a prestigious tournament will be glad to know that their prayers have been answered. The Vietnam Recreational E-sport Association (VIRESA) announced today that E-racing will be part of the upcoming Southeast Asian eSports Championship (SEA EC) 2021! Thanks to the efforts of Alex Yoong, former Formula One driver and founder of eRacing GP; the International Union of E-Motorsport, and Z-Challenger; RaceRoom will be joining PUBG Mobile, Wild Rift and Valorant as a medal event at the championship.

SEA EC 2021, a precursor to the 31st SEA Games which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2022, will be the testing ground for participants looking to compete in the latter event. What better way to get practice than against international opponents and with money on the line? Winners will get a cut of the 10,000 USD prize pool.

To compete in SEA EC 2021 RaceRoom, all you have to do is top the eRacing GP rankings (and obviously be from one of the eligible nations). The rankings will open on 24 December until 2 January and will be free to enter. The top two competitors from each country will qualify to compete in the final on 9 January, including both individual and team events. They will be racing in the Z-Challenger Audi RS3 in their national colours over three rounds on the day of the competition. Finalists will also be invited to compete in Challenger Cup, another racing simulation tournament to be held later in 2022.

Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have confirmed their participation with more countries expected to sign up in the coming week. Think you have what it takes to compete? Download RaceRoom now and start practising! Follow SEA EC on Facebook and YouTube to stay updated.
