Free Fire World Series Returns in May 2022!
After the disappointing cancellation of the Free Fire Worlds Series, many fans were left pondering when the next iteration of the tournament would take place. Fortunately, we now have an answer. Garena announced today in a press release the return of the Free Fire World Series next year - May 2022. While there was no mention of where the tournament will be held, we have dates to look forward to.
The play-ins for FFWS 2022 will begin on 14 May, and the grand finals will be on 21 May. Regional qualifiers will be held in the coming months, so look forward to those. The regions and teams haven't been announced yet but more details should be relased in the coming months though we don't expect it should be too different from FFWS earlier this year, especially after its success. FFWS 2021 had the highest peak viewership of any esports match in history with 5.4 million concurrent online viewers, excluding Chinese platforms, according to Esports Charts.
In the meantime, there's still plenty of top-tier Free Fire action in the coming weeks - we've got the Asia Championship and EMEA Invitational happening from 20-27 November to keep you fans satisfied! Stay tuned to eGG Network for more news.
