LoL Mid-Season Streamathon on 30 May to raise funds for COVID-19 relief
Can you handle over 48 hours of nonstop LoL content?
Looking for your next big League of Legends (LoL) fix? We’ve got good news for you. Riot Games has announced its Mid-Season Streamathon which kicks off next Saturday. Featuring league and exhibition matches from teams all around the world, this nonstop 48+ hour stream has plenty of action to offer, and then some. If you feel like staying home all weekend just to immerse yourself in LoL games, here’s your chance.
LoL fans in the region can look forward to the mid-season showdown finals, featuring Machi Esports and Talon Esports from the Pacific Championship Series (PCS) versus Team Flash and GAM Esports from the Vietnamese Championship Series (VCS). This skirmish between the teams will be a good indicator of their strengths on the global stage - at least for now, while all offline esports events have been cancelled or postponed.
Viewers of the stream can also donate to support a global network of nonprofit organisations that are addressing COVID relief efforts. According to Riot Games, “Fan donations will be distributed by the Riot Games Social Impact Fund to organizations such as the ImpactAssets COVID Response Fund and the GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund, who will provide aid to medical workers and front-line health care professionals, and support COVID-19 awareness and prevention efforts.”
