MLBB, PUBG Mobile and Wild Rift to be at SEA Games 2021: Hanoi
Esports fans who keep up with the SEA Games will be pleased to know that it will be returning this year! After the successful debut of the category at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, the organizing committee has decided to keep it going. The list of games have changed and we'll be saying goodbye to Dota 2, Starcraft II, Hearthstone (RIP Malaysia's chance to defend the title) and Tekken 7.
Here's the full list of games that will be played:
- Arena of Valor
- PUBG Mobile
- Free Fire
- League of Legends (PC)
- FIFA Online 4 (PC)
- Cross Fire (PC)
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
- League of Legends: Wild Rift*
*Wild Rift will be separated into male-only and female-only categories, while the rest of the titles will be mixed competition.
Based on the list, we can infer the popularity of those games in the region - LoL is definitely a big deal over there seeing how there's going to be two categories for Wild Rift, in addition to the regular PC version for mixed genders. It's nice to see Free Fire and PUBG Mobile making their debut, while FIFA Online 4 and Cross Fire are interesting additions. MLBB and AoV are returning titles - we'll see if the Philippines and Thailand can defend their titles respectively. Check out the official announcement or the full list of sports at the event.
The SEA Games 2021 Hanoi will take place from 21st November to 2nd December. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more esports news and updates!
