Team Flash and Axle Sports combine to form sim-racing super team, Flash Axle Sports
It's pretty fitting that the winners of E1 Championship Season One, Team Flash, would be joining forces with E1 co-organiser Axle Sports to make waves in the sim racing esports scene. This time, under a new name - Flash Axle Sports.
The partnership was made official yesterday, in conjunction with their participation in the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual race later tonight (26 June). Flash Axle Sports will be dispatching two cars in the endurance race at Circuito de la Sarthe, with two trios competing in the final race of the global Esports Endurance Series (EES):
Mohammad Aleef ‘Hamilton’
Naquib Azlan (Season Zero champion)
Mikko Nassi (Season Zero second runner-up)
Mika Hakimi (Season Zero fifth place)
Inigo Anton (Season One sixth place)
Instead of Raceroom (which E1 utilises), both teams will be racing on the rFactor sim racing simulator, against 12 other teams in the top-tier DPi (Daytona Prototype International) class. The two teams qualified in the top 5, granting Car #11 and Car #12 second and fifth place on the grid, respectively.
Catch the racers in action at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual race on Pitlane TV YouTube tonight (26 June) at 9PM (GMT +8).
Subsequently, Flash Axle Sports will be burning rubbers with the best Asian racers in the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) GT World Challenge Esports Asia Endurance Series. The virtual race will take place in Mount Panorama Circuit of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, from 5 - 11 July (qualifiers), and 17 July. The sim racing event will be streamed live on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
