Free Fire Continental Series 2020 returns this November with US$900,000 prize pool

This year’s Free Fire competitive series will soon culminate with the newly-formed Free Fire Continental Series (FFCS) 2020, the most esteemed global tournament for Garena’s mobile battle royale.

Aside from being a wholly-online tournament, the FFCS 2020 will be split into three series: the Americas Series, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) Series and Asia Series, to determine who are the best team in their respective region.

Here are the countries participating in each series:

Americas

Brazil
Latin America

Asia

Taiwan
India
Indonesia
Malaysia
Pakistan
Thailand
Vietnam

EMEA

Europe
Russia
Middle East
North Africa

FFCS 2020 features a mouth-watering total prize pool of US$900,000, with each series getting US$300,000 for their respective league.

Each series will be divided into two stages: the Play-ins and the Grand Finals. On how the tournament line-up will be chosen, first and foremost, the top-placing team of each national Free Fire tournament will directly qualify for the series Grand Finals. Other teams will have to battle it out for the top 5 spots in the Play-ins instead to advance to the final phase, with the rules differing between series.

For the Asia Series, the top teams of Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Taiwan and Pakistan immediately qualify for the Grand Finals. On the other hand, the second- and third-placed teams of all countries – except Taiwan and Pakistan, which will only send the runner-up team – will enter the Play-in first to fight for entries to the finale.

The Play-in for all three series takes place on 21 or 22 November, with the Grand Finals happening on 28 or 29 November. The Asia Series Play-in will be running on 22 November at 3PM (GMT +8), with the Finals on 29 November at the same time.

In other Free Fire news, Garena will soon be releasing its latest Elite Pass (EP), titled Ultrasonic Rave. The retro hip-hop-themed EP lets Survivors score swag cosmetics, such as the Stage Master Cooper or Stage
Starlet Candy skins, to shoot down their opponents in style, as well as the Victory Tune backpack skin, the Tomb of Boom lootbox skin, the
Ultrasonic Rave surfboard, and blow up their enemies eardrums with the Mic Drop grenade skin.
