Looking to kickstart your very own Free Fire esports journey with your buddies? Garena Free Fire has got just the thing for you – the Free Fire Malaysia Championship 2021 (FFMC)! Unlike the previous MCP Majors, FFMC is the first Malaysian-only competition – since the Free Fire Malaysia Open 2020 – that is open to the public. Now you have something productive to do during the lockdown. (wink) Also, in regards to SOP, every stage of FFMC 2021 will be held online.
The Free Fire series will feature a whopping total prize pool of US$50,000 up for grabs, with the entire tournament divided into three stages: the Qualifiers, League Stage and Grand Finals. The Qualifiers (4 – 6 June) will see everyone competing for the top 48 spots in the leaderboard to progress to the Qualifier Finals, where they’ll be split into four groups to determine the top 18 teams of the Qualifier Finals and upgrade to the League Stage.
In the League round (26 June – 18 July), all 18 teams will be divided into three groups, and each group will compete against each other across eight days, with a mid-week reshuffle on Day 4 – the top 12 teams will finally qualify for the Grand Finals. Held on 31 July, the finalists will battle for six matches, and the champions will take home the winners’ share of the RM200,000 prize pool.
Interested parties can register by clicking on the in-game Free Fire Championship tab from 31 May to 3 June, and you can sign as many as six players in your team. All players must be at least level 20 and possess gold rank to be eligible for FFMC 2021, with no need for a registration fee.
