gamescom asia returns in 2022 with Physical Entertainment Zone!
Great news for gamescom asia fans - the largest video games exhibition this side of the world will be back again this year, better than ever! The company announced today that gamescom asia 2022 will be held on 20-23 October, six months away.
While the event will still maintain its online presence to serve its global audience, this year gamescom asia will have a larger-scaled physical Trade Zone, Conference, and a physical Entertainment Zone for the first time. With an expected 100+ exhibitors and 15,000 total visitor turnout, they're going to need all the space they can get!
“It is the year for gaming events as gamescom and gamescom asia restart their physical formats, once again welcoming visitors to the show floor. We are very excited to bring back a festival atmosphere, of course within safe and calculated measures as we are not yet out of the pandemic, but overall, the enthusiasm has been evident amongst the community and industry,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Singapore, the organisers of gamescom asia.
The physical Entertainment Zone will be one of the event's major highlights, allowing visitors to experience the consumer exhibition and demo games in-person, watch live shows, meet and greet with creators, cosplayers, participate in contests and more (depending on the COVID-19 event guidelines at that time, fingers crossed).
As usual there will be the PRIMETIME and STUDIO shows broadcast live online for free for people to catch the action without leaving their homes. PRIMETIME will be on 19 October, and STUDIO on 20-23 October.
For those planning to do business at the event, there's the Trade Zone and Conference, of course. For more details visit the official website. If you intend to attend gamescom asia 2022, make sure you pay attention to the rules for traveling from your country to Singapore - there's plenty of time to sort it out.
