GBX Esports qualifies for the FIFAe Club World Cup Finals

While the Malaysian football team hasn’t been doing great in the international stage, fortunately, we’ve got something to be proud about when it comes to our esports counterparts. After a hard-fought match against fellow Malaysians, GBX Esports beat WICKED ESPORTS in two series, 6-0 and 6-3, to secure themselves a spot at the FIFAe Club World Cup.

The team had been knocked down to the lower bracket by WICKED earlier in the tournament, which made their victory even sweeter. Along the way, GBX Esports defeated Blue United eFC (Japan), Kashima Antlers (Japan), and eSports Hong Kong (Hong Kong) in order to claim their revenge.

Congratulations to GBX Esports for qualifying, and well played to WICKED ESPORTS for giving them a good fight. Next step for GBX, who consist of “LuqmanHzq” Haziq and Ahmad “Ayen” Shahrin, are the FIFAe Club World Cup Finals where they will face off again against WICKED, Blue United and Kashima Antlers for a chance to win the first-place prize of USD17,500.

The FIFAe Club World Cup Finals will be streamed live on 24th February. For more info and to catch the livestreams, visit FIFA.GG.
