Who says gaming can’t do good for the community?
While the purpose of game matches are to determine the best of the best, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 515 eParty Charity Showmatch was held instead to raise funds, providing support to the Malaysian healthcare workers for working tirelessly in curbing the COVID-19 crisis.
Featuring an all-star lineup of MLBB influencers (including Soloz, MasterRamen, Sync and Ly4ly4ly4), the fundraiser tournament – held on 16 May – attracted so many viewers that Moonton upped their donation to RM51,000, which will be donated to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) to aid our courageous comrades.
The showmatch served as a conclusion to Moonton’s month-long 515 party event, which first launched last year. Aside from in-game events, the first edition comprised of offline events in the form of tournaments, cosplay contests, lucky draws and more for fans to enjoy. But, to play their part in containing the COVID-19 outbreak, Moonton chose to hold this year’s 515 event in a wholly online format so that everyone can celebrate safely.
In conjunction with the season of Ramadan and Raya, a Raya-themed Fan Art Contest was open to fans to showcase their artwork depicting how MLBB heroes would celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, plus an updated Ramadan-infused in-game interface to get the MLBB community in the mood for celebration.
