Welcome to New Eridu

Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) is HoYoverse's urban fantasy action RPG, set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity survives in last remaining city, New Eridu. You play as a Proxy — someone who guides agents through mysterious alternate dimensions called Hollows using a TV-like device. game features stylish, fast-paced action combat, an anime-urban aesthetic, and production quality you'd expect from makers of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. If you're looking for a gacha game that prioritizes moment-to-moment combat fun with a killer soundtrack, ZZZ is hard to beat. Available on PC, PlayStation, iOS, and Android.

Combat System

ZZZ's combat is pure action with three core mechanics you need to understand from start. Basic Attacks chain together into combos unique to each character — different characters play completely differently (a sword character combos nothing like a bear with a gatling gun). Dodge is your main defensive tool, and a perfect dodge (timed just as an attack connects) triggers a slow-motion window where you can counter-attack for massive damage. This is called a Perfect Assist when it triggers a party member swap, and it's most satisfying mechanic in game. Chain Attacks activate when enemies are stunned (their Daze meter fills up), letting your entire team unleash their signature moves in sequence for devastating damage. flow is: dodge and attack to build Daze → enemy gets stunned → trigger Chain Attacks → swap characters and repeat.

Understanding Agents and Teams

Agents (characters) belong to different Factions (story groups) and have an Element (Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric, or Ether) and Specialty (Attack, Stun, Support, Anomaly, or Defense). Teams consist of three agents. ideal team structure is: one Attack agent (your main damage dealer), one Stun agent (builds Daze on enemies faster so your DPS can trigger Chain Attacks), and one Support/Defense agent (buffs damage or provides shields/healing). Faction bonuses give extra stats when your team shares a faction, but this is a nice bonus rather than a requirement. starter agents — Anby (Stun), Nicole (Support), and Billy (Attack) — form a solid team that can clear all early content.

Hollows and Exploration

"dungeon" content in ZZZ is presented through Hollows — alternate dimensions you navigate using a TV monitor. You move through a grid of TV screens, each containing combat encounters, events, shops, or bonuses. exploration is more structured than an open-world RPG but offers meaningful choices about which paths to take and which rewards to prioritize. Bangboo are small robot companions that provide passive bonuses and abilities during Hollow exploration — don't forget to equip and level them. Some TV events offer skill checks or mini-games that provide bonus resources. game respects your time — most Hollow runs take 5-15 minutes, making it perfect for mobile play sessions.

W-Engines and Drive Discs

W-Engines are your weapons. Each agent equips one W-Engine of their specific type (Slash, Strike, Pierce, or Support). W-Engines are primarily obtained through gacha or crafting. Level your main DPS's W-Engine as high as possible — it's single biggest damage increase. Drive Discs are ZZZ's equivalent of artifacts or relics — six slots of equippable stat pieces. Matching 2 or 4 Drive Discs of same set provides bonus effects. For beginners: equip Drive Discs with right main stat (ATK% or CRIT for DPS, DEF% or HP% for supports) and don't worry about sub-stats until you reach endgame. Terbaik early farm is to complete your daily Battery Charges (stamina) on Drive Disc stages matching your main DPS's desired set.

Progression Systems

ZZZ has several layers of progression: Inter-Knot Level (your account level, raised by doing quests and daily tasks) gates what content you can access. Agent Level raises stats and unlocks skills. Core Skill upgrades provide passive bonuses and new abilities. W-Engine Level is often most impactful upgrade. Don't spread resources thin — fully build your main team of three before touching other agents. daily routine: complete daily tasks (Commission quests), spend all Battery Charge (stamina) on material or Drive Disc farming, check video store for new VHS tapes (side quests), and explore New Eridu for hidden interactions and rewards.

Tips for SEA Players

ZZZ runs on HoYoverse's Asia server with excellent connectivity for SEA players (typically 20-50ms). game is well-optimized for mobile — even mid-range devices can run it smoothly on medium settings. Join ZZZ SEA community on Discord and HoYoLAB for redeemable codes (free currency), event announcements, and team building advice. game has a generous early-game premium currency flow — you'll earn enough for 50-80 pulls in your first week through quests and exploration. Version updates follow HoYoverse's standard 6-week cycle with livestream previews showing upcoming agents and events.

Common Mistakes

Don't ignore Perfect Dodge timing. This mechanic defines your combat effectiveness — practice it in training mode until it's muscle memory. Don't forget to switch characters. Unlike some games where you park on your DPS, ZZZ rewards constant swapping through Perfect Assists and Chain Attacks. Don't underestimate Stun agents. They might deal less raw damage, but filling Daze meter for Chain Attacks is essential for DPS checks. Don't skip story. ZZZ has genuinely good writing, memorable characters, and inter-chapter arcade mini-games are a delight. Don't hoard your resources. If you have materials to upgrade your main team, use them immediately — you'll always get more.
