PMGC 2020: Super Weekend 1 & 2 results, overall standings

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season Zero (PMGC 2020) is finally back on track, after making up for the delay of Super Weekend 1 last week. The four-day hybrid of Super Weekend 1 and 2 – which ended last night (7 December) – saw the top 8 rankings largely the same, save for a number of teams trading places.

Here’s a week-by-week rundown of the first two Super Weekends:

Super Weekend 1

Just when we thought that Four Angry Men – one of two Chinese teams making their PUBG Mobile esports debut in PMGC 2020 – were going to top the charts (based on two days of Super Weekend 1), Bigetron RA proved that to be wrong and came out on first place instead for Super Weekend 1, with the Chinese squad lowered to fourth place; the Indonesian powerhouse got the most Chicken Dinners too by winning thrice, not to mention that they also had the highest kill volume of 81 to pair that with. RRQ Athena were the other Southeast Asian team to reach the top 3 spot, followed by dark horse Klas Digital Athletics, who were the runner-up of the EMEA League (Europe, Middle East & Africa).

Super Weekend 2

Despite playing for four-days straight, Four Angry Men persevered and finally surpassed the Indonesian giants by 34 points in the latest Super Weekend, courtesy of their three Winner Winner Chicken Dinners, 10 whopping top 5 placements and 85 kills, the highest volume in Super Weekend 2. Still, Bigetron RA weren’t far behind in second place, with two WWCDs of their own. Nova XQF and Futbolist were the newest additions to the top 8 too, while Power888 KPS, Loops Esports, Konina Power and Secret Jin kept their composure and returned to the first page of Super Weekend.

Overall standings

After totalling up the points for both Super Weekends, Bigetron RA currently lead the pack with a total of 342 points and five WWCDs. But, it would be unwise for them to rest on their laurels right now, especially when Four Angry Men seems most likely to be the team that would overthrow the red-and-white players. The other top 8 teams have been keeping steady too. Even though RRQ Athena, Klas Digital Athletics, Nova XQF and Power888 KPS underperformed slightly in one of the Super Weekends, they’re still holding onto good seats in the overall Super Weekend leaderboard.

Despite missing out on Super Weekend 2, Malaysia’s very own Team Secret are still in the top 16 overall leaderboard. If they can buck up in time and not miss any more Super Weekends, they just might reach the top 8.
