Postponement dawns upon MPL-PH Season 5 due to COVID-19

Expect more delays to be announced for other esports tournaments, with MPL-MY/SG rescheduled as well.

COVID-19 may be good news for introverts and home lovers (thank you, delivery people! Death Stranding is almost real life now), but it isn’t especially so for esports fanatics. One of the most reputable esports tournament in Southeast Asia, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 5, has been delayed until further notice.

Announced on the official MLBB Facebook page late last night, organisers of the electronic sports event cited priority over “the health and safety of our players and staff” to postpone MPL-PH, followed by an apology on the much-needed decision. It’s a wise move by the management and Moonton to stop the pandemic from worsening.

The same postponement has already been enacted on tournaments in the other SEA nations, such as MPL-MY/SG Season 5, PMPL MY/SG 2020 and ESL Malaysia Championship 2020 CODM Season 1. No new updates has been posted yet on MPL-ID Season 5.

More details will be shared by MLBB in the following days. So, let us now be patient, stay sanitised and practise social distancing, as we wait for more news.

In the meantime, do game and follow us on Facebook for more gaming goods!
