The long-awaited Singapore Major was off to a great start over the weekend – despite some technical issues (what would a LAN be without some?) we were treated to some exciting, action-packed Dota matches. The teams in the Wild Card Stage were closer than expected – except for those without their full roster. Team Nigma and T1 were both playing without their offlaners, which showed in their performances – especially since Kuku is also T1’s captain.
Team Liquid started off day 1 strong going 6-0 and looking like favourites of the whole group, but they went 0-4 on day 2 which tied them with AS Monaco Gambit. Fortunately, they managed to win the tiebreaker, which gave them another shot at staying in the tournament. PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming played consistent, strong Dota as expected and they both finished top two.
The action continues all throughout this week, with two days of the Group Stage, where the three Wild Card teams will face off against the five qualified teams (Navi dropped out of the tournament). Here’s the schedule for today:
