The original mobile battle royale has proven that old is gold, with PUBG Mobile downloaded by over one billion gamers worldwide sans China. With Tencent’s game celebrating its third anniversary this month, their biggest milestone yet couldn’t have come at a better time.
Now we know why PUBG Mobile spared no expense in commemorating their birthday. Their latest music-centric game mode, Hundred Rhythms, set the stage for its bombastic 3rd Anniversary Party on 21 March.
To turn the fun up three notches, three high-profile DJs – Alesso, Lost Frequencies and R3HAB – spun songs that put gamers on their feet and dance (virtually), including their latest singles Going Dumb, Rise and Stars Align, respectively.
Even though PUBG Mobile’s anniversary is ending, another blockbuster celebration is coming your way, with a PUBG Mobile x Godzilla vs. Kong collaboration releasing soon. Though there are no clear details on the next update, “a brand new mode that will give PUBG Mobile players a special encounter with both Godzilla and Kong”, announced by Godzilla vs. Kong director, Adam Wingard, in his PUBG Mobile birthday wish. Expect more info to be revealed in the near future.
And finally, a sixth new map named Karakin – two-by-two kilometer North African desert that combines the best of both Miramar and Sanhok – will be released next Wednesday (7 April). 64 players dropping in to Karakin can experience the all-new Demolition purple zone (as opposed to the red ones we’re accustomed to), new throwables and bullet penetration mechanics that be exclusive to the new map.
