SEM9.Axle Sports Finish 4th In 24H Of Le Mans Virtual LMP!

Posted by George Wong on January 18, 2022

It was only last week when SEM9.Axle Sports announced their sim racing team collaboration and what a great start they've had so far. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual race over the weekend, one of their cars managed to snag 4th place in the final round - just shy of a podium finish. The team had two cars in the race, unfortunately, one of them had to retire at the 12-hour mark due to internet connection issues. Who knows how much further they could have gone if they didn't have such problems.

In the end, SEM9.Axle Sports finished in 10th place for the LMP Teams Championship and 15th for the GTE Teams Championship. While it wasn't gold, it was still a great result for the squad's first official event. They were also the only Southeast Asian team that competed in the endurance series and surprised the commentators for the event.

“I’m so proud of this group of drivers. When we entered the competition last year, they were quite overwhelmed by the whole experience. But we always knew they could be world class and today we showed the global motorsport community what we are capable of. Thank you to SEM9 for partnering with us. And also to Team Flash and JMX Phantom who collaborated with us and Next Level Racing who provided our rigs,” said Alex Yoong, Team Manager of SEM9.Axle Sports.

Winning the event were RealTeam Hydrogen RedLine, closely followed by Rebellion GPX Esports (.5 point difference!) and Floyd Bykolles-Burst. Check out the highlights of the race here:
