Today, Acer celebrated its 30th anniversary in Malaysia by announcing the launch of a few of its latest products showcased at CES 2020. After flooding the market with high-value gaming laptops under its Predator brand, The Taiwanese PC manufacturer has finally updated its fleet with its latest gaming monitors.
This is a 27-inch monitor with an IPS WQHD display with up to 165Hz refresh rate. It is NVIDIA G-SYNC supported with a 0.5ms response time. Its Flickerless, BlueLightShield, ComfyView and low-dimming technologies are designed for comfort during extended hous of gaming.
The Acer Nitro XV come with an IPS panel and AMD Radeon FreeSync, capable of delivering up to 240Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time. Acer prides themselves in being able to incorporate some of the best technology out there into a relatively affordable gaming monitor.
For Edmund Hoh, Acer's Product Manager, the key highlight of the XV series is its affordability. "Most monitors with refresh rates of 144Hz are expensive. The Nitro XV series boasts great refresh rates and greater colour accuracy - all the while maintaining an affordable price tag."
He's also excited about the new design for Predator's flagship gaming monitor. For him, the IPS panels are important elements of these new monitors. "Newer games are more colourful, and these panels give players a more immersive experience. Furthermore, we've achieved ultra-low latency on these machines." For him, the new fleet of monitors ticks the box for both casual gamers and esports professionals.
In recent years, Predator has been an active player in contributing to the growth of gaming and esports in Southeast Asia. In June last year, it announced a slew of products. In October, it brought the Helios 700 to Malaysia, and in November 2019, the Triton 900 landed on earth. With this new line of gaming monitors, Acer further flexes its muscle as the go-to brand for gaming and esports enthusiasts. What a way to start a new year and a new decade.
