There's no shorting of online sim racing tournaments these days due to the pandemic and it looks like the trend isn't going away soon. Adrenaline Impact and Vertex Esports have just announced the launch of another iRacing tournament - the Viper Niza Motul 12 Hours Race. A little different from other tournaments in the past due to the fact that it's going to be an endurance-based one. Yes, that's right - the 12 Hours in the race name isn't there just for show!
It's not often we get such races, so this should be an interesting one to take part in - assuming you have the stamina to do so. The Viper Niza Motul 12 Hours Race is open to 16 Asian countries in the region and features an RM10,000 prize pool as an incentive to compete. With only 60 team spots available, interested racers better sign up fast! Take note that there's a USD 30 fee for signing up (~RM 124).
This event is brought to you by Adrenaline Impact and Vertex Esports along with Viper Niza and Motul as main sponsors and Bespoke Motorsports as the co-sponsor. While Galeri Kereta will act as a media partner churning out laps after laps of mega racing to its viewer base of 1mil+ viewers. And as usual MAM (Malaysian Association of Motorsports) will be providing stewarding to ensure the highest standards of racing - just like in real life.
After the success of the Asian Touring Car Series, Adrenaline Impact and Vertex Esports are back with a new tournament, this time joining forces with SDeal Gaming, Simmatch and Torqu3 Lubricant Malaysia to launch the SDeal Saga Cup. Another Assetto Corsa event, this tournament pays homage to Malaysia and its most iconic vehicle, the Proton Saga. Yes, you heard that right. Competitors will be taking the 1985 car onto the racetrack.
With how involved the country is in motorsports and how many fans of the sport we have here, it only seems fitting to have Malaysia's very first car as the star of this event. Because it's not the most common choice when it comes to sim racing, it's going to make things even more interesting to watch. How often do you get to see Proton Sagas in high-speed races of this calibre? Exactly.
Qualifying races will be held at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia while the main races will take place at undisclosed locations (for now). Joining the racers will also be a cast of invited drivers and influencers - whose identities will be revealed at a later date.
To make it worth the competitors' time, the organizers have got some attractive prizes for the winners. A VNM Shifter, an aluminium racing rig, Torqu3 lubricants, and additional goodies for viewers who tune in. If you're keen on competing, just head over to the official form to sign up. As long as you can race in Assetto Corsa, you're eligible. To watch the tournament, follow Vertex Esports or Adrenaline Impact on Facebook for the livestreams. Galeri Kereta, the official media partner will also be hosting a Corolla KE30 giveaway to celebrate exceeding 1 million followers, find out more!
There's never been a better time to be into e-motorsports - with the pandemic going on, people are getting their fix of high-speed racing virtually and there's another tournament to join the fray. Adrenaline Impact, Vertex Esports, Galeri Kereta, Reiber Racing and Android King have recently announced a new racing series: Asian Touring Car Series (ATCS) that will be played on Assetto Corsa, a highly immersive racing sim.
The qualifiers ended last week, and starting this Friday, 10 September, the ATCS will have 20 drivers face off in weekly races on 4 different courses throughout the course of the tournament. If this sounds like your kind of jam, do tune in for the Qualifying Post Show tonight, at 7 pm on the Adrenaline Impact Facebook Page or YouTube channel to find out more about the event. The ATCS will run until 1st October, with a series post show on 4th October. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!
Racing heads looking for more vehicular action this weekend will be pleased to know that the XOX Unity League Season 2 by Adrenaline Impact and Vertex Esports will be kicking off tonight! The iRacing tournament is back with a larger prize pool (RM30k) and a different format this year. Instead of just the Mazda MX5, racers will now utilize GT4 class cars across 6 international tracks. The categories have also expanded and will now include: Pro, Amateur and Rookie drivers.
Returning from Season 1 to defend his title in the Pro category will be Mikko Nassi (a familiar name if you've been watching the E1 Championship) and joining the ranks will be Afizul Azha, who was the winner of the Amateur category last year. The new Rookie category will have plenty of new faces in the scene hoping to break into the upper echelons one day.
In addition to the iRacing action, viewers will be treated to a special 6-part documentary called GK Galeri Kereta Dunia Virtual Racing, which will be broadcast live during the XOX Unity League Post Show every Tuesday at 9.30 pm (+8 GMT). Featuring Tengku Djan Ley, Dominic Ang, Mycil Hafez, Paduka Syuib, Ilham Halabi and A. Azman; the series will cover the stories of professional sim and real racing drivers, and their journeys so far in the industry. Sounds like a must-watch for sim and real racing fans alike!
The XOX Unity League Season 2 goes live tonight at 10pm - catch it live on the Adrenaline Impact Facebook Page - follow them to keep abreast of the action.
While this weekend is going to be jampacked with tons of high-tier esports (I'm talking about the Singapore Major, PMPL-MYSG S3, MPL-MYS7, Wild Rift Preseason), that doesn't mean non-pro events have to be put on hold. If you've got a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team that is looking for some prizes to win, you're in luck. Relatively newcomers to the esports events scene, Vertex Esports have announced that they will be running their MLBB Showdown 2 - Return of the Amateur tournament.
Open to all non-pro players and teams, rank Mythic and below, this fun tournament features a 6,000 Diamonds prize pool which will be a good way to bling out your heroes if you're been eyeing some skins. At the very least, players will get a taste of what it's like to compete in a tournament (albeit a small one). Think you have what it takes to hang with other amateur teams? Sign up for the tournament before all the slots are filled up! The tournament will take place on Sunday, 28th March, 9PM, and will be a 16-teams single knockout format.
On the other hand, if you're more into racing sims, they will also be co-organizing the second season of the XOX Unity iRacing Challenge which will feature an RM30,000 prize pool. After a successful season with over 1 million impressions and reach, Vertex and Adrenaline Impact have their eyes set on an even larger crowd this season.
Registrations are open now until 3rd April, qualifiers will be held on 29th March - 3rd April, and the main season run from 9th April - 22nd May. For more details, sign up here or check out the AI Facebook Page.
