Astro’s esports and gaming entertainment arm, eGG Network, takes its first step into the universe of non-fungible tokens (NFT) through a partnership with Buddy Beater by Quinzy, a game studio based in Singapore. Buddy Beater is a 2D animation multiplayer battle royale game featuring 4 species: Sapiens, Beast, Ancient and Mutant, each with the same aim of conquering the world they share.

Buddy Beater will officially launch in May 2022. It is designed based on a play-to-earn system on the Ethereum chain where players can have fun and earn at the same time. Gamers can look out for eGG Network in-game items and collectible assets.

Nicholas John, Head of Sports, Astro said, “We’re excited to take our first venture into the blockchain and NFT space through this partnership. The technology is at its infancy, and we see potential for it to grow while exploring it together with our gaming audience and talents through an entertaining game like Buddy Beater.”

Noppasorn Sansanee, the CEO of Quinzy revealed “It is our pleasure to partner with eGG Network, one of the biggest esports broadcast media. We believe that Buddy Beater can grow big with the strength of our partners.”

From now till 25 April 2022, interested gamers can register for its whitelist for a chance to be part of the distribution of Buddy Beater avatars which are valuable NFTs needed to participate in the game. The developers have affirmed that this will be a sustainable and fairly distributed game; there will be no ICO, no pre-sale, and no Airdrop, a model that is developed with a well-designed tokenomic system. A total of 18,888 avatars are up for grabs which will be minted at 0.08 ETH (excluding gas fees) on 3 May 2022.

Buddy Beater has also partnered with semiconductor giants AMD (Thailand), and LOGA Thailand, a gaming peripheral brand. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more updates on Buddy Beater. Learn more and enter the whitelist at buddybeater.io.

We know how fun our streamers can be, and how awesome our professional e-athletes can play. But, what actually goes on behind the camera? What have they done to enjoy the pool of success they’re swimming in now? eGG Network will bring those answers to you in just a few days, with the all-new Sembang Game.

Sembang Game is a TV talk show featuring extensive interviews with some of the most prominent figures in Malaysia’s gaming scene, including Soloz, Mushi, Yana Samsudin and more. Hosted by actor-turned-streamer Jaasuzuran and futsal-player-turned-gamer Intanserah, they will chat with gaming content creators, women in esports, event organisers and professional players to share their career stories and insights on the industry.

But, what is a talk show centered on gamers without playing some games, right? While taking a break from poking our guests’ brains, our gaming personalities will face off against each other with friendly bouts of both physical games and video games, including - but not limited to - Overcooked 2 and Super Smash Bros.

The recently-married Soloz will be sharing his life story and journey as a streamer/pro player.

Sembang Game will premiere 15th and 17th September on Astro Arena (CH801 and 802) and eGG Network (CH800), respectively. Subsequent episodes will be broadcast every Tuesday, 10PM on Astro Arena; and every Thursday, 9PM on eGG Network.

Sembang Game is brought to you by the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Esports Integrated (ESI) and your most eGGcelent friends. Esports Integrated (ESI) is an initiative to catalyse a vibrant and sustainable esports ecosystem. This initiative is powered by Impact Integrated under the purview of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
