Have you ever wondered what your favourite Facebook Creator’s strange habits or top local dishes are? In this series of interviews, we sat down with the stars of Dari Hati, an eGGs-clusive special documentary programme, to ask them a few lighthearted questions that were too amusing for the show!

Hadi Afiq “Paroi” Bin Mohammad Tahir is one spirited steamer that his viewers can’t help but be drawn to. It’s no wonder the Malaysian Facebook Gaming Creator has amassed his own following who dubbed themselves the Paroi Army, a testament to their unwavering support to their favourite video game streamer. After all, the family man genuinely loves what he does, regularly streaming Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) whilst role-playing as both Team Malaysia and a commentator that surely entertains anyone who watches his streams.

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

Personally, I’d say tiger - they’re fierce, and they put their family and circle first. Like my fans, I appreciate them for being loyal and I feel close to them, not even toxic outsiders can stop us.

What are three things you can’t live without?

My family (wife, kids and parents), friends and fans, and Internet

What are your top 3 local foods?

  1. Nenek’s (Grandmother) masak lemak cili padi daging salai (Malaysian spicy coconut milk dish with smoked beef)
  2. Mom's asam pedas (sour spicy) dishes
  3. Wife's butter chicken

What weird beliefs or superstitions do you have?

I believe that when sleeping, your legs must never face the door, lest you get sleep paralysis.

What was the first video game you ever played? How were you introduced to it? How did you feel about the game?

Duck Hunt on NES. I had a gun controller that my Mom bought for me, but she also likes playing games and got hooked onto them. I played the game with her back in Seremban, and it was so exciting - it was something that’s totally new to me.

What do you like doing that relaxes or destress you?

Take my family on holidays, anywhere that’s different from usual.

What’s one interesting habit about yourself that no one else knows about you?

I like to plan everything and be punctual. Even before I came for the Dari Hati interview, I was already planning to come early. I’m also not too ambitious, and I’m open to learning and understanding everything, as long as it’s halal and achieves our goals.

Which country do you dream of living in, and why?

There’s simply no place like Malaysia. I feel like other countries will have their own issues with politics and currencies anyway, so I think this is still the best place to live in.

If you could master a new language, what would it be and why?

Arabic, so I can understand the Qur'an better and communicate with Arabs.

What are your worst habits?

I like bathing late in the day, but brush my teeth super early in the morning. My eating is a bit irregular also - I don’t eat a lot during the day, but it’s a different story at night.

Ying Tze - the multi-talented woman who models, streams, cosplays, and still finds time to be one of the faces of ASUS' gaming brand - Republic of Gamers. Talk about having a full plate! This week's Dari Hati will feature the Facebook Gaming creator who shares a tale of love, loss and betrayal but first - onto the fun questions!

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

I would be a cat, of course! Cats are my favourite animal. I think cats are very loving, beautiful and mysterious. You don't know what they want. They can be cold and sometimes they can be very manja (want to be pampered).

What are three things you can’t live without?

My contact lens, my phone and money, of course!

What are your top 3 local foods?

  • Nasi Bojari (from Madam Kwan's)
  • Sabah Beef Ball Noodles
  • KFC if that can be considered Malaysian food! (not really, but we'll allow it!)

What weird beliefs or superstitions do you have?

If you buy a pair of shoes for your boyfriend or girlfriend, you will breakup because they'll walk away.

What was the first video game you ever played? How were you introduced to it? How did you feel about the game?

Pokémon! Because it was very big back then. I played it on the Gameboy Color. Pokémon Yellow was my first video game. I was very excited about it - back then I was a big fan of Pokémon, and I remembered every single form and evolution for the first generation!

What hobbies do you like doing that relaxes or destress you?

Watching Netflix. I watch a lot of random Netflix shows. Korean drama, cooking competitions, baking competitions, fashion design competitions. I watch a lot of shows on Netflix! I put it on for two hours every night before I go to sleep.

What’s one funny habit about yourself that no one else knows about you?

A lot of people know everything about me - I'm an open book, so not really!

Which country do you dream of living in, and why?

I love Malaysia. Even though I travel to a lot of places and many countries are nice for vacations like Japan and New Zealand. But eventually, I still love my own country because home is where everyone close to me is. If I go to New Zealand alone, there's no point because I'll be all alone.

If you could master a new language, what would it be and why?

Japanese because I'm a big fan of anime and manga. I used to study it a while ago until intermediate level, but I stopped.

What are your worst habits?

I'm untidy! My house is very messy, sometimes it takes me half a year to start throwing things out. I'm a hoarder! I buy a lot of things I don't need. Sometimes I buy a lot of clothes that look nice but I don't wear them, so my house is full of things. That's probably my worst habit.

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

Birds, especially those that like to sing. They always fly high and I want to be like them: just to fly, relax and hopefully achieve something.

What are three things you can’t live without?

Best friend, family and money.

What are your top 3 local foods?

  • Nasi lemak with chicken
  • Tom yum
  • Paprik (Thai-style chili fried) dishes, and basically anything Thai-inspired

What was the first video game you ever played? How were you introduced to it? How did you feel about the game?

Pinball, because there were no other games except that one on the PC. Of course I had fun playing it, I used to spend so many hours playing that game with my friends/family.

What hobbies do you like doing that relaxes or destress you?

Singing, and I also play the guitar. I play games too to relax.

What’s one funny habit about yourself that no one else knows about you?

I'm a very sentimental person so I cry easily.

Which country do you dream of living in, and why?

Switzerland, because there's a lot of very nice scenery there. I went there sometime this year before COVID-19, and it was beautiful. That's a place I'd want to live.

If you could master a new language, what would it be and why?

Mandarin. I used to have a lot of Chinese friends and I tried to learn from them - I found it interesting enough to want to learn more about how to speak the language.

What are your worst habits?

I think I got scolded a couple of times for screaming a lot. (laughs)

Donning an out-of-place wig in his wacky Vine content, Luqman Podolski’s antics won the hearts of meme enthusiasts and comedy gold seekers, which stayed long after the platform ceased operations. Refusing to falter, Luqmanul Hakim continued to upload his content on YouTube and Facebook, with his most recent endeavour being video game streaming on Facebook Gaming. On top of streaming horror games much to the enjoyment of his viewers, Luqman likes broadcasting his content with various video games, including FIFA, single-player games, and even tries his hands at odd ones - for example, his latest foray includes playing as Mr. Krabs of SpongeBob SquarePants acquiring questionable substances.

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

A bear, definitely - they sleep, eat, and do it again and again. I like to live like that, lazy to move.

What are three things you can’t live without?

Internet, PS4 and PC.

What are your top 3 local foods?

What weird beliefs or superstitions do you have?

Believe it or not: horoscopes, especially those daily ones - it’s too coincidental to be true at times! When I read them and remember what I did today, it turned out to be real sometimes.

What was the first video game you ever played?

Super Marios Bros. My Mom used to always travel to China a lot (I think), and a lot of consoles and cartridges were sold cheaper there at the time. So, she bought it and introduced it to me when I had nothing to do after kindergarten. It was so hard for me, man, that I was stuck at level one.

What do you like doing that relaxes or destresses you?

A bit cliche, but listening to music, and the genre depends on my mood. I’m into more Korean hip-hop music now, like Dean, Jay Park and Zico.

What's a funny fact about yourself that not many would know about you?

I like cats, but sometimes they really frustrate me. I have two cats, and when I tell them not to do something, they end up doing anyway, like bothering me or taking dumps outside the litter box even though I already bought them two boxes. They’re still cute though.

Which country do you dream of living in, and why?

Indonesia, I love how unified the people are.

If you could master a new language, what would it be and why?

Japanese, their accent is nice, and I can even try asking a Japanese girl out.

What are your worst habits?

Procrastination. I tend to play with my phone, lepak (hang around), play games, then only I will do my task. Not just work, but even for tidying up my house.
