Southeast Asia’s largest gaming and esports event is taking on a wholly-digital format, immersing fans further with its “Interactive Virtual World” for a top notch experience both online and offline. On top of utilising virtual production technologies, Garena World 2021 will also be introducing augmented reality (AR), visual effects (VFX) and animation in its digital event.
Taking place in Thailand this weekend (3 - 4 April), the official Garena World 2021 website will serve as a live streaming platform that possess public/private chat features and even avatars that can be personalised. If you're a patron in Thailand, you can participate in mini-games to win in-game and physical goodies - delivered to your home for free! - for Arena of Valor (AOV), Free Fire, FIFA Online 4, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Fairy Tail: Forces Unite.
And what's a gaming event without a side of esports? Four tournaments will be held for the above games sans Fairy Tail, pitting 39 of the region's top teams against each other for a share of the US$660,000 prize pool. Furthermore, Garena World 2021 will be hosting “Garena Get & Give” sharing sessions to educate the future generation on career opportunities within the industry and in the wider digital economy. Together with the Ministry of Sports and Tourism in Thailand, the Garena Awards will be making its debut in the event to recognise industry leaders in the Thai gaming and esports field.
