OUR STREAMERS

Kenapa perlu menjadi watak orang tua?

Bidaah: "Bila jadi watak pakcik ni, saya perlu betul-batul menjadi orang tua. Dari cara percakapan tu, memang kena jadi orang tua. Serak-serak lar suara tu.

Server Malaysia Role Play.

Pengalaman unik bergelar streamer.

Who said gamers can’t be musicians? Certainly not these four Facebook Gaming Creators (Mohamad Faizal “Jaasuzuran” bin Ahmad, Adam Faiz “Spartanker” bin Isa, Ku Izwan “Chiko” bin Ku Majid, and Hadi Afiq “Paroi” bin Mohammad Tahir, who teamed up with Malaysian rapper/songwriter, Lil J, to come up with a music video for their very own original song, Kuala Loco

“The meaning of the song is to teach ourselves to be humble when we’re successful, and to be nice to everyone when we reach the top,” said Jaasuzuran (or Jaa, as he’s fondly called), on behalf of the group.

The video game content creator originally wrote Kuala Loco - with the help of Spartanker, Chiko and Paroi - as a theme song for their Grand Theft Auto Online private server (also named Kuala Loco), where the rest of the gang stream in regularly. Interestingly enough, Jaa said that some of the lyrics in Kuala Loco are based on true stories from their personal lives, though he didn’t point out which. “You’d have to listen to it to find out for yourself,” he said, winking.

When they released the original song, it was so well received by fans that they felt a music video for Kuala Loco is in order. However, they’ve never filmed a music video before, so it was quite challenging for them. “Especially so when we had to dance to the beat, not to mention that I got a little embarrassed because the crew was watching us,” Jaasuzuran shared with a chuckle.

One can’t help but wonder: will this be the only musical endeavour that the squad will produce? “If the response is good, Insyaallah, we will be excited to do so.”

Jaasuzuran, Spartanker, Chiko and Paroi will premier and react to Kuala Loco’s music video tomorrow (29 January) at 8PM (GMT +8) on their respective Facebook Gaming pages, so don’t miss it!

For those of you who follow the GTA V roleplaying scene in Malaysia, Uncle Dyy will be no stranger to you, but for those who don’t – the 28-year-old streamer found success streaming his adventures in the city of Los Santos (and later on “Kuala Lumpur”). Even though he plays a multitude of games on his streams, one thing remains consistent – his sense of humour and cheery personality. Let’s dive into his mind to find out what makes him tick.

If you could compare yourself to any animal, which would it be and why?

Monkey, I guess. Because monkeys can go anywhere by foot or by hand, they can go anywhere - similar to me, I like travelling all over the place.

What are your top 3 local foods?

Ikan bakar (grilled fish), asam pedas (sour and spicy fish stew), and putu piring (steamed palm sugar rice cake).

What’s the most controversial thing you can say that won’t get you in trouble?

I don’t think I have any controversial statements because I am okay with everything.

If you could only pick one video game to play for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why?

Honestly, I wouldn’t pick only one game to play for the rest of my life, but if I had to pick one game, it would be a horror game. Any kind of horror game. I like jumpscares.

If you’ve been around the Facebook Gaming community long enough, you’d most probably know who Jaasuzuran is by now. For the uninitiated, the former radio presenter is famous for his role-playing live streams of Grand Theft Auto Online, where he works with many other Facebook Gaming Creators to create stories and act them out, akin to TV series and films. In our last interview with the actor/host, he described “streaming as a form of art.” Aside from GTA Online, he also streams other varieties of games, including - but not limited to - Among Us, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

I would have to say … a horse, because it exudes a lot of energy, just like I do.

If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

Internet and a gaming PC. If there are trees, then I have wood to perhaps build a house, build everything else myself. I would name my island … “Suuzuran Island”!

What are your top 3 local foods?

  1. White rice with ayam masak merah ("cooked-red" chicken), on the sweeter side
  2. Fried fish and kuah ikan singgang (grilled fish gravy), plus budu (fermented anchovies sauce)
  3. Banana
Jaasuzuran was a radio presenter at Era FM!

If you could only pick one video game to play for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why?

The God of War series, from the PS2 era all the way to PS4. I like it so much that I’ve played it three or four times!

What hobbies do you like doing that relaxes or destress you?

I like to relax on islands or go travelling when I want to take a break from work.

Runs in the family: Her sister, Raasuzuran, is also a Facebook Gaming streamer.

What’s one funny/interesting habit/fact about yourself that no one else knows about you?

I’m actually scared of ghosts. When my housemates try to scare me, I get so mad at them for doing so!

Which animals are you a fan of?

Cats. I have seven of them under my care.

What other skills do you have that other people don’t know about?

I can write scripts for short films and song lyrics. But, I can’t make myself do it, it can only happen naturally when inspiration hits me.

What are your worst habits?

I love sleeping. I tend to get moody if anyone disturbs my sleep.

We had a pretty nice chat with Jaa a few months back too about his streaming and acting career, in case you want to know more about the suave but fun Malaysian.

Even though mobile gaming is all the rage in the Facebook Gaming streaming world, Chiko likes to keep it old school, sticking to his trusty PC games. His main content comprises role-playing in Grand Theft Auto Online, as well as playing Dota 2 and PUBG PC from time to time. But, Chiko isn’t all about gaming - sometimes he just enjoys chatting with his viewers while he browses the Net, listening to music or checking out any interesting online content that his fans suggest in the comments section.

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

A wolf, because it runs in packs like I do. I value my fans, friends and family a lot - without them, I wouldn’t be here.

What are three things you can’t live without?

My Mom, Internet and my friends.

What are your top 3 local foods?

Backstreet’s back for Chiko and fellow superstar Facebook Creator, Soloz.
  1. Nasi lemak rendang
  2. Nasi goreng daging merah
  3. Anything that my Mom cooks, especially her sambal

What weird beliefs or superstitions do you have?

If you skip out on maghrib prayers, the kopek hantu will come and kidnap you.

What was the first video game you ever played? How were you introduced to it? How did you feel about the game?

Chiko’s first day on the job at a cyber cafe (or Internet cafe).

For offline, it’s Half-Life. I played it in a cybercafe when I was in Standard One. I actually vomited from motion sickness the first two days, but I kept playing anyway and eventually became good at the game. On the other hand, Ragnarok Online is my first ever online game.

What’s one funny/interesting habit/fact about yourself that no one else knows about you?

I used to be an athlete in school, mainly as a sprinter and relay runner, the kind where you pass the baton. I even played rugby too.

Which country do you dream of living in, and why?

Mexico, because I like their culture - very laid back, village-like atmosphere, which I love. I’m not a fan of cities, I feel it’s a bit messy and noisy.

What is your worst habit?

I like to tease my girlfriend, like farting out of nowhere when she’s with me.

Did you know Chiko was a competitive PUBG PC streamer? No wonder why he streams the battle royale sometimes.
