On Monday we covered the official release of the M2 theme song - Immortal Hero. We hope you enjoyed Mobile Legends: Bang Bang track because Moonton has announced that there will be many more versions of the song to be released in the coming days!
Moonton is collaborating with well-known artists from the region to put their own twist onto the song! The artists are Joe Flizzow (Malaysia), ShiGGa Shay (Singapore), King Promdi (Philippines), Yung Hugo (Myanmar), and Dycal Siahaan (Indonesia). Based on the announcement, we can expect changes in the language and the style for each of the remixes.
No word on when they will be out, but it shouldn't be too far away, since M2 starts next Monday. Keep your ears peeled and make sure you follow eGG Network to stay updated on all the latest M2 news!
After the two teasers last week, it looks like we didn't have to wait too long to find out who the invited teams for the upcoming M2 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship are! Released in a new hype video on the official MLBB Facebook Page, here are your 12 teams competing for the title of World Champion:
Missing this year will be representatives from North America, Turkey, Thailand/Laos and Vietnam, but due to the global pandemic and travel restrictions, some sacrifices probably had to be made. Regardless, all the top teams of their respective regions will be present, so it's going to be a bloodbath for USD30,000 prize pool. Unfortunately, as expected, there will be no live audience for the event as it is going to be a closed door event.
M2 will take place next year in Shangri-La, Singapore, January 18-20 for the group stage and 22-24 for the playoff. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more news and updates on the upcoming tournament!
The most anticipated Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament has been officially announced! M2, the second iteration of Moonton's most prestigious world championship now has a confirmed date. While we finally have a date, we're sad to say that it won't be in 2020 (with the current state of the world, nobody's surprised). Fortunately, we won't have to wait too long - M2 will be taking place in January 2021 and this time around it'll be hosted in Singapore.
That's all the information we have for now - no exact dates, a venue, or whether there's going to be a live audience, but a rough date and a hype trailer are better than nothing!
We don't know how many teams or who will be invited to M2 yet (the pandemic is definitely going to make things difficult) but we can expect recent MPL winners such as Todak, Bren Esports, and RRQ Hoshi to take up some of the Southeast Asian slots. Regardless of whoever is invited, we're sure it's going to be one heck of a bloodbath!
Watch the official M2 trailer above, and get hyped with us! Remember to stay tuned to eGG Network for more news and coverage on MLBB esports.
2020 sure has flown by in the blink of an eye - we can't believe it's December already! Best month of the year, of course, and also the month where people like giving more than receiving. To celebrate Mobile Legends: Bang Bang hitting 1 billion downloads, Moonton and Club Rainbow Singapore, a non-profit that benefits children with chronic illnesses and their families; have announced the 2020 Singapore Christmas Charity Showmatch.
Taking place on 19 December, it will consist of two matches - the first one between RSG (MPL-MY/SG S5 winners) and KINGSMEN (PVP Esports Champions SG), and the second one will have influencers going head to head - Team Jian Hao vs Team Aiman Haikal (who have donated SGD 3,000 respectively, to Club Rainbow for this event).
In addition to regular matches, there will be a new game mode called "Protect the Captain", which should be interesting to watch - teams will have to make sure their captains don't accumulate 8 deaths. With every 2 deaths, a mid lane tower will be destroyed, and eventually the nexus when there are no more towers left!
Moonton also announced that its latest in-game event "Blazing West" is going on right now - if you haven't launched the game for a while, this might be a good chance to go back. Make sure you log in on 12 December to claim the new hero, Mathilda!
After the amazing performance from the team during the regular season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia/Singapore (MPL-MY/SG), expectations were high for Todak to maintain their form during the playoffs and boy, did they deliver! Not only did they go on to win the whole competition, but they also kept their undefeated streak going! A notable achievement since they're the first team to ever pull off this incredible feat.
Before MPL-MY/SG S6, the team couldn't even make it past the group stage of the MLBB Pro League Invitational back in June. According to our interview with their manager, Ashi, it was due to the lack of time for their new players to build chemistry with the existing ones. What a difference the past few months have made!
At the press conference after the interview, Todak's Fighter/Tank player, Xray addressed the topic of team chemistry by revealing that the team spent a lot of time together to prepare for the tournament. They lived together in the same house, ate together and so on - they did everything as a team. Todak also thanked Ashi, as his guidance was crucial in helping the team make decisions together, which led to substantial improvements in their performance.
The Grand Finals of MPL-MY/SG S6 took place yesterday and was one of the most interesting matches we had the pleasure of spectating. Reminiscent of Season 4’s grand finals which featured the same teams (but different players), the pressure was on Todak to maintain their winning streak in the tournament, and EVOS SG to win a second MPL title.
Todak were down for the whole game, while EVOS SG maintained control of the whole map until they were wiped attempting a push into the base of Todak. Immediately, Todak seized the opportunity to run down mid and end the game before all of EVOS SG’s heroes could respawn.
Carried on the back of Ciku who never lost his cool - his amazing performance on Ling outmanoeuvred the whole of EVOS SG by split pushing to force them to deal with the lane pressure and then leaping to the other side of the map to join team fights. EVOS SG never had an answer for the slippery assassin. Eventually, 2 deaths in a row for Pokemon's Esmerelda meant that Todak had a ticket into their opponent’s base to easily end the game.
It was comeback time for EVOS SG who maintained firm control of the game from start to finish. The breaking point for Todak came when EVOS SG’s Potato who had been left alone, split pushed all the way to take out Todak’s bottom inhibitor. This lead to Todak splitting up their forces, leading to an unfavourable team fight, and subsequent game loss. EVOS proved that they weren’t out of the Grand Finals yet.
For the fourth game of the match, Todak rounded up their draft with an uncommon Atlas pick. EVOS SG played a similar game to the previous one, focusing on split pushing and taking out Todak’s bottom inhibitor at 8 minutes. However, that didn’t deter Todak from maintaining their aggression across the map. After a decisive team fight in the mid-game, they quickly secured Lord and pushed into EVOS SG’s base to win the game.
Todak defeated EVOS SG 3-1 to secure themselves the MPL-MY/SG S6 title. The team remains undefeated (in 12 matches) from start to finish of the whole season. With their very first MPL trophy in the bag, and their sights set on international competition, we're very interested in seeing if the Malaysian squad can keep this performance up. Considering how young the current line up of Todak is, we have a feeling that this victory is only the beginning.
MPL-MY/SG S6 might be over, but we've got plenty of news and updates on MLBB in the future, remember to stay tuned to eGG Network to be in the know!
If you've been holding your breath for Moonton's ambitious Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Project "NEXT" update, the wait is finally over! Starting today, you can boot up the game on your mobile device to download the update. Now that the patch is live, we've got more detailed information on what the update entails.
Lane selection: players can choose their lanes according to their heroes at the beginning of the match - this will affect how your hero performs. Jungle heroes will be stronger in the jungle and weaker in lanes, and vice versa.
Revamped heroes: Miya, Layla, Alucard, Eudora, Zilong, and Saber. In addition, you'll also be able to complete tasks to unlock new skins for these OG heroes.
Hero changes to Alice, Tigreal, Vale, Aurora, Kadita, Granger, Silvanna, Yu Zhong, Chang'e, Atlas, Martis, Terizla and Balmond.
Battlefield changes: for the first 7 waves, Siege Minions on the lane closer to the first Turtle will provide extra 50% EXP, while Siege Minions on the lane further from the first Turtle will provide extra 50% Gold. From wave 8 onwards, these Siege Minions will stop providing benefits. This change is going to affect how certain heroes lane in the game.
