Are you ready to catch 'em all? Pokémon UNITE, the long-awaited Pokémon MOBA, which has had over five million pre-registrations, is finally making its way to your smartphones and tablets tomorrow afternoon. In addition to the launch of the game, there will be a new battle pass, Galactic Ghost 094, to go along with it. Galactic Ghost 094 will feature tons of space-themed items and rewards to make your Pokémon look out of this world. Players will also be able to get the Unite license for Zeraora - by winning 32 battles (players who already own it will receive Aeos coins). There will also be a new squad finder feature, Unite squads, which will allow like-minded trainers to easily find people to play together with.
The game will be released on the Google Play Store (Android) and iOS App Store (iOS) at 3 PM, on 22nd September (Wednesday). To celebrate the five million pre-registrations, every user who has played the mobile version of Pokémon UNITE and completed the log-in event by Sunday 31st October will receive the following rewards: Aeos tickets (to exchange for in-game items), a Unite license for Pikachu, and special Holowear for Pikachu called Festival Style. Players who already have the Unite license for Pikachu will receive Aeos coins instead.
If you've been waiting for months to play the game because you don't own a Switch, remember to mark the time on your calendar! Who's excited?
Hardcore Pokémon players in the region, rejoice! All those years spent training your Pokémon can finally be put to good use. If you fancy a ticket to the Pokémon Global Exhibition to play against the best Pokémon Sword/Shield players in the world, you're in luck. ESL and The Pokémon Company announced the launch of the Pokémon Asia Players Cup 2021.
As the very first multi-regional online tournament for Pokémon Sword/Shield in Asia, we'll get to see trainers from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand show off their Pokémon skills to win the title of best in the region. The winner will secure a slot to the Pokémon Global Exhibition in October and the Travel award to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships.
This tournament sounds like something a younger me would have jumped at the chance to compete in (twenty years ago). But for those of you who are interested now, registration for the tournament is open and qualifiers will kick off on 28 August. Head over to the official ESL website to sign up. No mention of any broadcasts at the moment, but we would be surprised if it wasn't televised. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more news and updates!
