The first weekday stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: East concluded last night and the teams for the first Super Weekend have been decided. While our Malaysian representatives (4Rivals and Team Secret) didn't do fantastically, they secured enough points thanks to getting a Chicken Dinner each - hopefully, they bare their teeth this weekend!
Surprisingly two of the top teams from Southeast Asia failed to make the cut this weekend - FaZe and Bigetron RA will have to sit it out while the rest of their opponents get to earn points that matter. FaZe seems to be suffering the most, finishing bottom of the leaderboards with only 21 points, alongside BCS from Japan.
Sitting comfortably at the top are Stalwart Esports (Mongolia), Tong Jia Bao (China) and Nigma Galaxy (Middle East) who are starting to look like the favourites for this tournament. However, it's only the first leg of the tournament and we all know that PMGC is going to be a marathon instead of a sprint - anything can happen in the upcoming weeks.
