If you want to take a break from the intense mobile esports period we're in now, may we suggest refreshing yourselves with some good old-fashioned professional beat-em-ups by watching one of this year's biggest e-fighting championships, the WePlay Ultimate Fighting League (WULF Season 1)?

Featuring a total prize pool of US$150,000, WePlay Esports' inaugural season of WULF will invite the world's most famous virtual fighters to battle across Mortal Kombat 11, Soulcalibur VI and Tekken 7. Each game will be split into two stages: Group Stage and the Playoffs.

In Group Stage, sixteen players are split into two groups while they duke it out in a Round Robin best-of-five format. Only the top four players of each group will qualify for the Playoffs, where a double-elimination format takes its place. The Grand Finals will be an epic one, featuring a best-of-nine format that would surely be nothing but pure intensity.

The Weplay Esports fighting series will also be an offline tournament, taking place in the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine.

WULF Season 1 begins 26 March (Saturday) at 5AM (GMT +8), with Mortal Kombat 11 kicking off the league until 28 March, followed by Soulcalibur VI (2 - 5 April) and Tekken 7 (9 - 12 April). Catch the tournament LIVE on eGG Network - check out our TV guide for our broadcast schedule - or Twitch for online users.
