It was an exciting weekend for livestream fans as we got to watch many of the regions’ top streamers them duke it out across many different titles. One of these was Riot Games’ brand new shooter – Valorant. The Valorant SEA Invitational had talent from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Philippines competing for the title of best team in the region and a cut of the US$10,000 prize pool.
While it wasn’t a long and drawn out tournament, Taiwan’s representatives, Team Tempest (which consisted of Hehe, Crazyface, Xargon, KMoMo and Zonda) showed that they were the best team this weekend. The Taiwanese squad stomped Team Panaroma in the best of 1 group stage (with a score of 13-1), and ran over Team Titanium (from Thailand) 2-0 in the finals.
Team Marshall (Malaysia’s representatives) unfortunately didn’t make it out of the group stage despite winning their match against Team Spectre (Singapore) due to the round difference score. Better luck to them next time.
Team Tempest walk away with US$3,200 and the title of Valorant SEA Invitational Champions. Is this an indicator of how the upcoming Pacific Open will play out? Only time will tell. Stay tuned to eGG Network for more information on upcoming Valorant news and tournaments!
