We finally have our first official look at the latest agent of Valorant, who will arrive in Act 2 next month. True to what we previously suspected, Killjoy is a hacker that utilises her bot and turret to defend or incapacitate enemies. Don’t let her Big Hero 6 look fool you though, her arsenal is as deadly as her name implies.
This is the full loadout of Killjoy’s killer abilities:
Deploy a bot that pursues enemies that are within range. The bot explodes upon reaching its target, making them Vulnerable. Killyjoy can also recall it after deployment.
Place an automated turret that sweep for enemies in a 180-degree angle and fires at those that come within range. Killjoy can even recall the turret after activation.
Throw a Nanoswarm grenade to release a swarm of nanobots that damage enemies.
The Lockdown device restrains all enemies within in its radius. However, it has a long windup to activate and can be destroyed by enemies.
The German agent’s abilities are not only aggressive – particularly the Nanoswarm grenade, and the ability to recall most utilities – but are also great for defensive tactics. Time will tell if Killjoy’s abilities are considered overpowered, or if their effects turn out to be well-balanced.
Looks like we won’t have to wait long to try out Killjoy, as we predict that Valorant Act 2 begins sometime next week when the Act 1 Battle Pass ends.
