Yoodo Celebrates 3rd Anniversary
To celebrate the telco's 3rd anniversary, Yoodo held a virtual press conference this afternoon to share the company's milestones and successes. Over the past 3 years, the company has seen quite a bit of success, especially in the niche they've developed for themselves as Malaysia's only (and perhaps in the world) fully customisable mobile prepaid plan. Based on their track record, and their core business being relatively unaffected by the ongoing pandemic, it looks like they're here to stay.
Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo, recapped the evolution of the telco from 2018 until now. Introducing convenient payment methods, their unlimited plans, and 20GB plans. He also shared about the telco's involvement in the local esports team - from sponsoring PMNC 2018, and the tournament's eventual winners, Yoodo Gank!, PMNC 2019, the Campus Championships, COD: Mobile Championship 2020, MPL MY/SG Season 5, working together with RSG, and more.
"30-40% of our customers use gaming add-ons. We consider it a success because our customers who buy gaming add-ons are likely to spend more than someone who doesn't. PUBG Mobile is the most popular add-on because it is free. People normally don't exceed the monthly 20 gigs for games," said Yoodo's head during the press conference.
While Tuck Mun teased that the Yoodo app will be receiving a significant update later this year, he didn't reveal much more than that. However, they did share some new promos that Yoodo customers can take advantage of:
- TikTok Add-On RM1/20GB (promo until 31st December, normal price RM10)
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang RM1/20GB (promo until 17 August, normal price RM5) Selected users will also receive 1,000 in-game diamonds. Non-Yoodo users who switch to Yoodo will also receive a promo code to redeem 100 in-game diamonds.
- Increased accessibility to Yoodo's SIM packs - they will now be available at BHPetromart and Petronas Mesra outlets, in addition to the 10 Celcom bluecube outlets in Mid Valley Megamall, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, AEON Bukit Tinggi, Laman Seri, Sunway Pyramid, NU Sentral, Prima Sri Gombak, Bandar Baru Klang, IOI Mall, and Kajang.
