Supergiant Games has rolled out a new Hades 2 update, and this one is a big deal if you play the game for the characters as much as the runs. The patch launched alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, and it focuses heavily on romance progression, gift interactions, voiced dialogue, and narrative events.

In short, if you have been grinding through runs and getting a bit too emotionally invested in Melinoe's relationships, this patch is very much for you.

One of the biggest changes is how relationship scenes now work when you give certain gifts like Ambrosia, Bath Salts, and Twin Lures. Before this, some character routes would hit a stopping point after you progressed far enough. With the new patch, those interactions can continue further, and Supergiant says players may unlock new memories along the way. Characters who are eligible for deeper bonds will also bring that up more clearly.

That should make the whole system feel less like you accidentally missed a hidden flag and more like a proper slow-burn relationship route. For a game like Hades 2, where the cast is a huge part of the appeal, that is a solid upgrade.

The patch also adjusts nine entries in the Fated List of Minor Prophecies. Most of these changes are aimed at making important events easier to trigger or easier to understand, while some storylines now get narrated conclusions. That applies to prophecies tied to characters including Arachne, Echo, Hypnos, and Narcissus.

Some of the more notable prophecy-related changes include:

  • extra instructions as you progress through several character-related prophecies
  • higher priority for key events in entries like Melinoe, Help Us, Silk and Spitefulness, Voice and Vanity, Haunted by the Past, and Unfinished Business
  • narrated conclusions added to several of those storylines
  • reduced requirements for Denier of Suitors and Original Virtues
  • a higher chance of seeing the event where Chaos introduces Born to Win

On the voice and narrative side, the list is even longer. Supergiant added more dialogue and interaction beats for a big chunk of the cast, including Dora, Echo, Eris, Hecate, Hera, Heracles, Icarus, Moros, Narcissus, Nemesis, Odysseus, Poseidon, and Melinoe herself.

A few highlights: Icarus is now less reluctant to bond, key later scenes with Moros and Nemesis can happen under less restrictive conditions, and characters in the Crossroads will accept an initial gift of Bath Salts earlier than before. There are also more ambient conversations, like Hecate and Odysseus chatting, Moros and Odysseus chatting, and even Narcissus and Echo talking in the Fields of Mourning.

Melinoe also gets plenty of fresh lines, including reactions to Sacrifice Boons, the Aspect of Anubis, the Abandoned Statue, Chaos Trials, and more. Even smaller touches got attention, like Eris commenting on the warning sign pointing to her and Poseidon getting more excited as Sea Star activates repeatedly.

For Malaysian and SEA players, this patch matters because Hades 2 is now live across more platforms, which means more people can finally jump in without waiting around on PC only. And if you are the kind of player who loves story-rich roguelikes, this update makes the game feel more rewarding between fights, not just during them. That is especially nice for console players coming in fresh, since they are getting a version with more polished relationship and narrative flow right away.

Basically, this is not a balance patch trying to shake up the whole game. It is a character patch, and honestly, that is a win. Hades 2 already had a stacked cast, so giving players more reasons to keep talking, gifting, and chasing story payoffs is the kind of update that hits hard if you are here for the vibes and the lore.
