The preview for Agents of the Four Seasons Episode 5 has been released, giving fans a fresh look at the next chapter before it airs on Saturday, April 25.

For Malaysian and SEA anime fans keeping up with the season week-to-week, this is one to keep on the radar. The series is being streamed by Crunchyroll and Bilibili, which means it sits right in that familiar seasonal anime rotation for viewers here — check your region app listings, queue it up, and avoid spoilers once Japanese broadcast clips start circulating online.

WIT Studio continues the seasonal fantasy

WIT Studio is handling animation for the series, with Ken Yamamoto directing. The scripts are written by Ayumu Hisao, while Namiko Torii is responsible for character designs. Music is composed by Kensuke Ushio, a name many anime fans will instantly recognise for emotionally textured soundtracks.

The anime has also previously rolled out themed visuals representing the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. That fits the whole identity of the series nicely, since the story itself is built around myth, seasons, and the people chosen to carry that cycle forward.

Main voice cast

The announced cast includes:

  • Yuka Nukui as Hinagiku Kayo
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Sakura Himedaka
  • Sumire Uesaka as Ruri Hazakura
  • Ranko Baba as Ayame Hazakura
  • Hime Sawada as Nadeshiko Iwaizuki
  • Taku Yashiro as Rindo Azami
  • Shogo Sakata as Rosei Kantsubaki
  • Satoshi Hino as Itecho Kangetsu

It is a pretty stacked lineup, especially if you enjoy character-focused fantasy where the emotional weight depends heavily on the voice performances. This kind of show is not just about big action moments — the atmosphere, longing, and interpersonal drama matter a lot.

What is Agents of the Four Seasons about?

Agents of the Four Seasons began as a light novel illustrated by Suoh, published under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint from April 2021. The light novel is licensed by Yen Press.

The premise is very mythic: in the beginning, only Winter existed, but that loneliness led to the creation of Spring. Later, Summer and Autumn came into being as the world needed a fuller cycle of rest and renewal. The people who maintain that cycle are known as the Agents of the Four Seasons.

At the heart of the story is Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, who vanished ten years ago — and with her disappearance, spring itself disappeared from the land. After enduring serious hardship, she returns to bring the natural order back, while also carrying a love connected to Winter, echoing the old myth behind the world.

Why SEA fans should care

For viewers in Malaysia and the wider region, this is the kind of anime that can quietly build a loyal weekly audience. It has the polished production name with WIT Studio, a fantasy setup that is easy to understand but emotionally rich, and a visual theme that can hit hard if the anime nails the seasonal mood.

If you are into poetic fantasy, dramatic light novel adaptations, or anime with a strong aesthetic identity, Episode 5 is worth watching as the series continues developing its world and characters. Not every seasonal anime needs to be loud to be memorable — sometimes the best ones are the shows that slowly pull you into their atmosphere.
