Bleach’s final chapter swaps the battlefield for a glimpse of what everyone fought to protect. According to ComicBook Anime, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has concluded its four-season run, bringing the TV anime franchise to a close after 22 years.

The showdown with Yhwach finishes in the penultimate episode. That leaves the finale to move the story forward by a decade, checking in on Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki and the people around them after the war.

Spoiler warning: major details from the Bleach anime finale follow, including relationships, children and the ending.

Episode 50 brings the manga’s ending to screen

Titled “Death & Strawberry,” Episode 50 adapts the last two chapters of Tite Kubo’s original manga. Rather than stretching out the final battle, it explores the lives that have taken shape ten years later.

That is a significant change of pace after Thousand-Year Blood War, which brought the manga’s closing conflict to animation following the original TV series’ ending more than a decade earlier. The stakes of that war covered all three worlds; the closing episode makes room for careers, families and a quieter kind of future.

Soul Society has changed too. The Thirteen Court Guard Squads have a new captain lineup, with some familiar former captains among those revealed. Rukia becomes captain of Squad 13, while Renji serves as her lieutenant.

However, an unexplained spiritual pressure suggests the past might not be completely finished with them.

Ichigo and Rukia now have families

Back with Ichigo’s circle, everyone is coming together to watch Chad compete in a professional boxing match. The gathering also delivers some of the finale’s biggest personal updates.

Ichigo and Orihime are married and have a son, Kazui. Rukia and Renji also have a child, a daughter named Ichika.

Kazui can see spirits, sharing an ability with both his parents. His connection to the supernatural quickly becomes important when he deals with the mysterious spiritual pressure as it emerges.

The presence is revealed to be what remains of Yhwach. With those remnants eliminated, the ending leaves all three worlds at peace.

Our take: For Malaysia and SEA readers deciding whether to finish the adaptation, the useful distinction is that this is an epilogue, not simply another episode of the final fight. The payoff includes seeing where the characters end up, alongside the resolution of the central threat. Anyone avoiding manga-ending spoilers should be especially careful around finale discussions.

A finished adaptation does not confirm another anime

There is a confirmed franchise celebration ahead: “Bleach Fes.” is scheduled for next year in Japan, with voice cast and staff members set to reflect on the anime’s 22-year journey.

That announcement should not be confused with confirmation of a sequel. ComicBook Anime raises the possibility that the event could offer a hint about the future, but that remains speculation.

There is also material beyond the manga’s original ending. Kubo later published an official one-shot that opened another storyline involving Hell and returning enemies. Its existence gives fans something concrete to discuss, but it does not establish that an adaptation is happening.

For now, the distinction is straightforward: the original manga’s anime adaptation has reached its conclusion, a celebration is coming, and any further animated chapter remains unconfirmed. Ichigo’s story has a proper stopping point without needing a hypothetical sequel to make it count.
