Crunchyroll has finally locked in the streaming date for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, and good news lah — fans do not have to wait much longer.
The movie will arrive on Crunchyroll on April 30, with both subtitled and dubbed versions available. That makes it the headline opener for Crunchyroll’s month-long Ani-May campaign, which is basically its big May celebration for anime fans across streaming, games, merch, and community activities.
For Malaysian and SEA fans who missed the cinema run, this is the important bit: Reze Arc is the bridge you probably should not skip if you are following Denji’s story properly. It takes place after the events of Chainsaw Man Season 1, and adapts one of the manga’s most talked-about arcs — the one involving Reze, the mysterious girl tied to the Bomb Devil.
And yes, this is still Chainsaw Man, so expect blood, devils, messed-up fights, and Denji making emotionally questionable decisions. But Reze Arc is also known for being weirdly romantic in that painful Tatsuki Fujimoto way. It is not just “more action, bigger explosions”. The arc hits because Denji’s chaotic search for affection gets thrown into something way more dangerous and personal.
If you only watched Season 1 and never touched the manga, this movie should feel like Chainsaw Man turning the dial up. The action scale is bigger, the emotional damage is heavier, and Denji’s simple wants — food, love, normal happiness — get tested in a world that absolutely refuses to let him live normally. Classic Fujimoto suffering, bro.
The April 30 release is also earlier than some fans expected. Crunchyroll previously said back in February that the film would stream sometime in spring, but now we have the actual date. For those who already watched the Japanese-subtitled theatrical version last year, this streaming drop also gives you the chance to check out the English dub.
Crunchyroll is using Reze Arc to kick off Ani-May 2026, which will feature more than just streaming recommendations. The campaign is being positioned as a wider anime celebration, with rewards, exclusive drops, shopping tie-ins, and community moments across major franchises. Confirmed names include Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise, My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Solo Leveling, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
For SEA fans, this matters because anime releases are increasingly becoming global event drops, not just Japan-first moments that trickle down later. When a title as huge as Chainsaw Man lands on streaming with sub and dub together, it gives Malaysian fans a cleaner way to join the conversation immediately — whether that is Discord watch parties, TikTok edits, cosplay planning, or arguing about best girl with way too much passion.
Meanwhile, Chainsaw Man Season 2 has already been announced. The reveal happened at Jump Festa 2026 last December, alongside a teaser trailer and poster. However, there is still no confirmed release date for the new season yet.
So for now, Reze Arc is the next major Chainsaw Man stop. If you have been waiting to catch up before Season 2, April 30 is the date to mark.
