Chainsaw Man fans, Reze season is not slowing down.
The stage play version of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s chaotic devil-hunting series is coming back with a new production titled Chainsaw Man The Stage: Reze Arc. The show is scheduled to run in Tokyo in July 2026, followed by Kyoto in August 2026.
For fans who have been following every version of Chainsaw Man — manga, anime, movie, merch, cosplay, you name it — this is another sign that the Reze Arc remains one of the franchise’s biggest fan-favourite moments. And honestly, no surprise lah. Reze’s story has that exact mix of romance, danger, betrayal, and emotional damage that Fujimoto readers live for.
Main cast confirmed for Reze Arc stage play
The newly revealed cast brings back Naotake Tsuchiya as Denji, while Yui Soma joins the production as Reze.
Other confirmed cast members include:
- Mizuki Umetsu as Aki Hayakawa
- Mahiru Coda as Power
- Aya Hirano as Makima
The production is based on Fujimoto’s original manga, with Fumiya Matsuzaki handling both writing and direction. Music will be by Shunsuke Wada, while choreography is handled by HIDALI.
This new play follows the first Chainsaw Man The Stage, which debuted in 2023 and adapted the early Public Safety arc. So this Reze production is basically the next big step for the stage version of the series.
Why SEA fans should care
Okay, most Malaysian and SEA fans probably won’t be casually flying to Japan just for a stage play — unless you’re already planning a Tokyo/Kyoto trip, then bro, this is a very strong itinerary add-on.
But even for fans watching from here, this matters because Chainsaw Man has become more than just another shonen hit. It’s one of those anime/manga titles that keeps expanding across formats: anime, movie, theatre, music, awards, and live events. That kind of momentum usually means more collaborations, screenings, merch drops, convention presence, and cosplay activity across the region.
In Malaysia especially, Chainsaw Man remains a strong ACG staple. You see Denji, Power, Makima, and Reze cosplays at conventions, and the franchise still has that edgy mainstream pull that works with both hardcore manga readers and casual anime fans.
Chainsaw Man’s wider run so far
Fujimoto launched the Chainsaw Man manga in 2018. Part 1 wrapped in 2020 with 97 chapters across 11 volumes. Part 2 began in July 2022 and, according to the source, ran for 135 chapters until its ending on March 25. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.
The anime adaptation ran for 12 episodes, with MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka previously saying the anime was a complete financial success. The series also had one of the most memorable music rollouts in recent anime: Kenshi Yonezu’s “KICK BACK” as the opening, plus a different ending theme for every episode.
On the movie side, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc premiered in 2025 and won Anime Movie of the Year at Anime Corner’s yearly awards. The International Assassins Arc anime is also currently in production.
For anyone who still hasn’t jumped in, Crunchyroll streams the anime. The story follows Denji, a broke teenage devil hunter living with the Chainsaw Devil Pochita. After being betrayed and killed, Denji forms a contract with Pochita and returns as Chainsaw Man — a human with a devil’s heart.
