Cupid Parasite Is Finally Coming to PC via Steam

Idea Factory International is bringing Cupid Parasite to PC via Steam, and honestly, this is a pretty nice win for otome fans who don’t live fully inside the Nintendo Switch ecosystem.

The company has announced that the romantic comedy visual novel will launch on Steam sometime in 2026. No exact release date has been confirmed yet, but the Steam product page is already live, which means PC players can start keeping an eye on it now.

For Malaysian and SEA players, this matters because otome games can be weirdly platform-locked sometimes. If you’re not already invested in a Switch — or you prefer playing visual novels on a laptop, desktop, or handheld PC — this port makes Cupid Parasite much easier to access. Steam also tends to be the more convenient option here, especially for players who rely on regional pricing, local payment options, and sales. Pricing for this PC version has not been announced yet, though, so don’t assume anything until the store page updates.

What is Cupid Parasite about?

Cupid Parasite is set in a world where the gods are real, and Cupid herself is trying to sort out humanity’s love problems from the ground level.

Instead of floating around doing goddess things, Cupid is living on Earth under the name Lynette Mirror. She works as a Bridal Advisor at Cupid Corporation, helping people find love and settle down. Because she’s extremely good at the job — naturally, since she’s literally the Goddess of Love — she ends up assigned to a very special problem group.

That group is the Parasite 5, five men who are considered almost impossible to match. They’re eligible, sure, but they also come with enough emotional baggage and personality chaos to make the job complicated. The lineup includes Lynette’s friend Gill, as well as Shelby, the president of Cupid Corporation.

And because this is a rom-com otome game, things don’t stay professional for long. The matchmaking setup eventually becomes tied to a reality show, and Lynette herself gets pulled into the drama. All five members of the Parasite 5 are romance options, so yes, the workplace mess gets very personal.

A rare PC otome return for Idea Factory International

One interesting detail from the announcement is that Idea Factory International said it has been eight years since it last released an otome game on PC via Steam. The previous ones were Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds and Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms.

Since then, the publisher’s otome output has leaned more heavily toward Switch releases. Cupid Parasite originally launched worldwide on Switch in December 2021, while its fan disc follow-up, Sweet and Spicy Darling, arrived worldwide in May 2024.

So this PC port is not just another platform release. It could be a small but meaningful signal that Idea Factory International is willing to bring more otome titles back to Steam if the audience shows up.

For SEA fans, that’s the part to watch. The otome and visual novel crowd here may be niche compared to gacha, anime fighters, or mobile RPGs, but it’s very real. More PC releases mean fewer hardware barriers, easier screenshots and streaming, and better access for players who mainly game on laptops.

Cupid Parasite is already available on Nintendo Switch worldwide. The PC version is planned for Steam in 2026.
