Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Returns Through Wuthering Waves Collab With Free Rebecca

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans, we are so back — just not in the way some people were hoping.

CD Projekt Red’s hit Netflix anime is crossing over with Wuthering Waves, the free-to-play open-world action RPG from Kuro Games. Instead of a new anime season drop, this collab brings two of Edgerunners’ most loved characters into Solaris-3: Lucy and Rebecca.

Based on the reveal trailer, the setup is simple enough: the Edgerunners have somehow landed in the world of Wuthering Waves, and obviously, chaos follows. For anyone who has not jumped into WuWa yet, think anime-style sci-fi action RPG with open-world exploration, daily activities, flashy combat, and gacha character collecting. Basically, if you have played Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, you already know the lifestyle — login, clear tasks, pray your pulls are blessed.

What makes this collab click is how naturally Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fits the vibe. Wuthering Waves already leans hard into futuristic cities, stylish character designs, and high-energy anime combat. Lucy and Rebecca do not look like random guest skins pasted into the game. They feel like they could genuinely exist inside Solaris-3, especially since Edgerunners itself is built around dystopian tech, neon violence, and characters trying to survive systems much bigger than them.

The big win for players: Rebecca will be playable for free. That is the kind of announcement that instantly matters to Malaysian and SEA players, because gacha collabs can get expensive fast. When a fan-favourite character is locked behind limited banners, it usually means budgeting crystals, skipping other units, or praying your pity counter behaves. Giving Rebecca away removes a lot of that pressure and makes the event way more welcoming for casual players who just want to vibe with the collab.

Lucy, meanwhile, seems to be getting a major role in the event story. The tease suggests she is focused on one of Solaris-3’s moons, which is extremely on-brand for her if you remember how important the moon was to her character in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. That small detail alone should hit anime fans quite hard. It is not just “here is Lucy in another game”; it sounds like the collab is actually using emotional baggage from the series.

There is no exact release date yet, but the event is currently planned for June 2026. That timing is smart. Wuthering Waves is also preparing for its Xbox Series X/S launch shortly after, so this collab feels like a big visibility push before the game reaches more console players.

For Malaysia and SEA, this could be one of those events that pulls lapsed players back in. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners still has strong anime fan energy here, especially among people who watched it after Cyberpunk 2077’s comeback arc. Pair that with a free Rebecca, a Lucy story quest, and WuWa’s already flashy combat, and yeah — this is probably worth reinstalling for.

Now we wait for the full banner details, event rewards, and whether Lucy herself becomes playable or stays story-focused. Either way, June is looking pretty stacked for anime RPG fans.
