Dead by Daylight fans, it is time to squad up properly — Behaviour Interactive is bringing back its Attack on Titan crossover, and this time it comes together with the return of the wild 2v8 mode.
For Malaysian and SEA players who enjoy chaotic late-night horror sessions with friends, this is the kind of limited-time event that can easily turn into Discord yelling material. The normal Dead by Daylight formula is already tense enough, but 2v8 basically doubles the madness by putting more killers and survivors into the same match.
2v8 returns from 28 April to 19 May
The returning 2v8 mode will be available from 28 April until 19 May. Instead of the usual setup, this limited-time format expands both sides, creating a much busier version of Dead by Daylight where maps feel more packed, escapes become messier, and every chase can suddenly turn into a full-on disaster.
For casual players, this is probably one of the easier event modes to convince your friends to jump into. More players means more chaos, more rescue attempts, and more funny failures when everyone panics at the same time. For SEA players dealing with mixed skill levels in friend groups, 2v8 should feel less sweaty than standard ranked-style play — though obviously, killers can still make your night miserable.
Attack on Titan cosmetics are coming back
The anime side of the event is the return of Dead by Daylight’s Attack on Titan collaboration. Cosmetics from the original 2022 crossover will be available again, giving players another chance to grab skins they may have missed the first time.
The big new highlight is a Legendary costume for The Trapper, turning him into a towering Titan. That one is easily the headline cosmetic here, because Dead by Daylight’s killers already have that horror silhouette, and Attack on Titan’s Titans fit the vibe a bit too well.
Several survivors are also getting anime-themed outfits. Jake Park will receive the Cleaning Levi costume, Yui Kimura gets Mikasa’s dark uniform, and Thalita Lyra gets Sasha’s uniform. These three are listed as Very Rare cosmetics, so collectors who want the full set may need to be ready.
On top of that, Renato Lyra, Adam Francis, Mikaela Reid, and Haddie Kaur will receive the Queen’s Ball Attire Outfit. Meanwhile, Feng Min and Meg Thomas are getting the Heart of Freedom Outfit. The Attack on Titan lobby is also returning, which should help make the whole event feel more complete instead of just being a shop refresh.
Killer balance tweaks are part of the update
The returning 2v8 mode will not be exactly the same as before. Behaviour is making some killer-focused adjustments to improve the experience. The Deathslinger is getting buffed, while The Oni is being nerfed.
That matters because 2v8 can get messy fast. If certain killers are too strong in a larger match format, the whole thing can become frustrating rather than fun. These tweaks should help keep the mode more playable, especially for groups jumping in mainly for the crossover rewards and new Attack on Titan quests.
Why SEA fans should care
Attack on Titan still has huge pull in Malaysia and across SEA, especially among anime fans who grew up with the series and still recognise Levi, Mikasa, Sasha, and the Survey Corps instantly. Pairing that with Dead by Daylight’s multiplayer horror setup makes sense: it is anime nostalgia mixed with jump-scare party game energy.
If you already own Dead by Daylight, this is worth checking out during the event window. Even if you are not grinding daily, 2v8 plus the returning Attack on Titan cosmetics makes this a solid reason to reinstall, call the squad, and suffer together for a few nights.
