Demon Slayer Keeps Infinity Castle Hype Alive With New Hashira Training Stage Release

Demon Slayer fans, we may be waiting quite a while for Infinity Castle Part 2 — but Ufotable is not letting the flame die out just yet.

While the next big movie in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy is still in production, the franchise has announced a fresh anime-related release in Japan: Demon Slayer Banquet – Hashira Training Arc. This is not a brand-new TV season or movie, so don’t panic-scroll for episode counts. Instead, it’s a special stage event where the Japanese voice cast performed key Hashira Training Arc moments live for fans.

The event happened in Japan earlier this month and is now getting a home release there on May 27. Think of it as a premium fan experience — part live reading, part performance, part celebration of the anime’s final stretch before the Infinity Castle saga fully takes over.

For Malaysian and SEA fans, the important bit is this: there is currently no international release announced for Demon Slayer Banquet – Hashira Training Arc. So unless Aniplex, Crunchyroll, or another distributor decides to bring it out later, this looks like Japan-only territory for now. Hardcore collectors might keep an eye on import options, but casual fans shouldn’t expect it to suddenly pop up locally next week.

The bigger Demon Slayer update is still the home video rollout for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. The first Infinity Castle film is set for Blu-ray and DVD release in Japan on July 29. International home video plans have not been confirmed yet, but the usual pattern suggests fans outside Japan may get streaming news after the Japanese physical release window moves forward.

That matters because Infinity Castle had a ridiculously long cinema life in Japan, reportedly running for nine months. For an anime movie, that is massive. It also explains why Ufotable and the production committee are not rushing the sequel. When a film performs that strongly, the franchise can afford to take its time — especially with a finale arc that fans expect to look insane on the big screen.

If you’re watching from Malaysia, this probably means two things. First, don’t expect Infinity Castle Part 2 to suddenly arrive in 2026. Ufotable recently presented several projects, and the second Infinity Castle movie was placed under future works rather than the 2026 slate. That points to 2027 as the earliest realistic window.

Second, the wait may be annoying, but it is probably the correct move. Demon Slayer’s best moments hit hardest when Ufotable gets the animation, music, and fight choreography right. The Infinity Castle arc is basically the endgame raid boss section of the whole story, so if they need time to cook, let them cook.

For now, Malaysian fans should keep tabs on two things: official international streaming announcements for the first Infinity Castle movie, and any local cinema updates once Part 2 eventually gets dated. Demon Slayer remains one of the few anime franchises that can turn a movie release into a proper event here in SEA, so expect big hype whenever the next chapter is finally ready.

Until then, Japan gets the Hashira Training stage event release, collectors get something to chase, and the rest of us continue waiting for Ufotable to drop the next cinematic nuke.
