Demon Slayer fans, the ice-cold demon is finally entering the arena.

Sega has confirmed through a new trailer that Doma will be added to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on May 28. He is the seventh and final DLC character included in the game’s paid Infinity Castle Part 1 Character Pass.

For players who mainly live in VS Mode, this is the big one. Doma is one of the major names tied to the Infinity Castle storyline, so his arrival should give the roster a proper villain-side power spike. If you are playing locally with friends on console or grinding matchups online from Malaysia or around SEA, expect a lot of people to test him immediately once he drops.

The Infinity Castle Part 1 Character Pass focuses on fighters connected to the recently released Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns film. The DLC lineup includes Doma, Kaigaku, and Infinity Castle versions of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Giyu, Shinobu, and Akaza.

Before Doma, the game had already rolled out the rest of the pass across several updates: Kaigaku arrived on October 30, Infinity Castle Zenitsu on December 2, Infinity Castle Akaza on December 19, Infinity Castle Tanjiro on February 13, Infinity Castle Giyu on March 11, and Infinity Castle Shinobu on April 17.

There was also a separate free update on September 18 that added Muzan Kibutsuji to VS Mode. So even if you skipped the paid character pass, the post-launch roster still got a pretty important demon upgrade.

Why this matters for Malaysia and SEA players

Demon Slayer is one of those anime properties that cuts across both casual fans and fighting game-adjacent players here. Even people who do not normally touch arena fighters will jump in if their favourite Hashira or demon is playable. With Doma closing out the pass, this is probably the point where many fans will reassess whether the DLC bundle is worth picking up on their preferred platform.

The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It launched in Japan on August 1 and in English on August 5, with English Deluxe Edition owners getting access up to five days early.

The sequel’s story mode continues from the first Hinokami Chronicles game and covers the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc. VS Mode includes more than 40 playable characters, with all characters from the first game returning in the base roster. The nine Hashira are also playable in this sequel.

Digital Deluxe Edition content includes Kimetsu Academy unlock keys for Kyojuro Rengoku and Tengen Uzui, unlock keys for Tengen Uzui, Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima, plus VS Mode system voices and costumes. Japan also received a special edition with a physical figure and digital bonuses.

CyberConnect2 developed the game, while Aniplex released it again. The original Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles launched in Japan and English in Asia in October 2021, before later releasing in North America and Europe. Its Switch version followed in June 2022.

With Doma completing the Infinity Castle Part 1 Character Pass, the big question now is simple: will Sega and Aniplex keep the DLC train moving after this, or is this the final major roster push for now?
