Lasengle is already lining up the next big story step for Fate/Grand Order, and as usual, the Japanese server gets first dibs.
A new main story chapter for FGO is set to begin in early June 2026 on the Japanese version of the mobile game. To unlock it, players will first need to clear the “Beginning of After Time” main quest as well as two Grand Duels. So yeah, this is not something fresh accounts can just jump into casually — you need to be properly caught up.
For Malaysian and SEA players, the important bit is this: the update is only confirmed for the Japanese server right now. There is currently no release date for the English/global version, though the chapter is expected to arrive worldwide eventually. If you play on Global, expect the usual gap and also expect your social feeds to become spoiler land once JP players start clearing the content.
What do we know about the new chapter?
At the moment, not much — and that is very on-brand for FGO’s main story teasing.
The official site shows a mysterious visual featuring seven pillar-like structures with eyes, set against imagery of gears and a clock face, with the whole scene looking like it is underwater. It is giving big “something ancient and very bad is waking up” energy, but Lasengle has not explained what the visual actually means yet.
One interesting detail is how the story is being labelled. Based on the wording used on the Japanese site, it seems to be presented more like an individual chapter name — similar to chapters such as London or Yuga Kshetra — rather than a full multi-chapter arc like Epic of Remnant or Cosmos in the Lostbelt. That said, until Lasengle says more, we should not assume whether this is a one-off chapter or the start of something bigger.
Why this matters for FGO fans
This update comes after a massive milestone for the Japanese server. Main Record 2: Cosmos in the Lostbelt wrapped up with its final chapter in December 2025, closing a journey that began all the way back in April 2018 with the Russian Lostbelt, Anastasia.
That is a huge chunk of FGO history. For players who have followed Chaldea through years of story, bosses, emotional damage, and gacha suffering, this new chapter is basically the first major step into whatever comes after Part 2.
For English server players in Malaysia and SEA, the timeline is different. The latest main story chapter on the English version is Ordeal Call II: Id, meaning Global still has several chapters to go before reaching the finale of Cosmos in the Lostbelt. So if you are mainly on the English app, this news is more of a long-term heads-up than something you need to prep for immediately.
Still, it is worth watching closely. FGO’s JP server usually sets the tone for future banners, story direction, and fan discussion. If this chapter introduces major new threats, lore reveals, or must-roll Servants, SEA players will definitely feel the hype ripple even before the content officially reaches Global.
Fate/Grand Order is available on mobile devices. More details about the new Japanese server story chapter are expected closer to its June 2026 release window.
