Another cosy isekai is rolling into the July anime season, and this one is very much for fans who like their fantasy with camping gear, comfort food and a bit of revenge-by-living-well energy.

The TV anime adaptation of Yoneori’s light novel series The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World has revealed a new trailer, ending theme song details, additional cast information and a fresh key visual. The ending theme will be “Holy Sweet Home” by Onkan Lemonade.

The trailer also gives fans a listen to the opening theme, “Butterfly” by INUWASI. So yes, this is not just another generic fantasy announcement drop — we’re already getting a better feel for the show’s vibe before it airs.

When is it airing?

The anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2026 in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, CBC and AT-X. The series is also planned for streaming on other platforms.

For international viewers, HIDIVE has confirmed streaming rights for the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. No Malaysia or wider Southeast Asia streaming platform has been confirmed in the provided announcement, so local fans will need to wait and see whether it lands on the usual regional services closer to release.

That matters because SEA anime fans are very used to the “announced for overseas, but not our region yet” waiting game. If this one gets picked up properly for Malaysia, it could sit nicely beside other chill food-focused fantasy shows that do well with weekend-watch audiences.

What is The Forsaken Saintess about?

The story follows Rin Takanashi, a working adult in her thirties who enjoys camping and tabletop role-playing games. She gets summoned to another world as a saint alongside a beautiful high school girl, but things go sideways almost immediately.

Instead of being treated like the chosen hero, Rin is rejected because her abilities — “Motor House” and “Survival” — are judged as useless by the prince. She is exiled on the spot, which is honestly peak isekai politics nonsense.

The twist is that Rin’s so-called trash skills are actually extremely useful in the right situations. She can summon her ideal camper van, lean into her survival knowledge, and turn the whole fantasy-world disaster into a solo camping and cooking journey. Along the way, she meets new companions and builds a life on her own terms.

For Malaysian viewers, the hook is pretty clear: this sounds like Campfire Cooking in Another World energy mixed with roadtrip fantasy comfort. Less “save the kingdom immediately,” more “let me cook, camp and vibe while proving everyone wrong.” Memang best if the food scenes hit properly.

Cast and staff

The anime stars Sora Tokui as Rin Takanashi and Yūki Ono as Vil.

Atsushi Nigorikawa is directing the series at EMT Squared. The scripts are handled by Takashi Aoshima, while original novel illustrator Akane Nitou is credited for the original character designs. Izumi Ishii is adapting those designs for animation. Ankichi Kobo is credited with production assistance.

On the audio side, Hiroto Morishita is serving as sound director at Bit Grooove Promotion. Kana Utatane is composing the music, with Lantis producing the music.

Where did the series come from?

Yoneori first launched the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019. Kadokawa began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Akane Nitou in 2020. The sixth novel volume shipped in May 2024.

A manga adaptation by Nana Kogami also began on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website in 2020, with the fourth compiled volume released in May 2025.

If you’re already building your Summer 2026 watchlist, keep this one on the radar — especially if you like your isekai less edgy and more “give me a camper van, good food and freedom.”
