FuRyu looks like it has one more surprise cooking, and this one is giving off properly strange vibes.
The Japanese publisher has teased a new game reveal through its official social media account, with the announcement set for May 22, 2026 at 10:00 JST. For Malaysia and Singapore readers, that lines up nicely at 9:00am MYT/SGT, so no painful midnight countdown this time.
For now, FuRyu has not shared the game’s title, genre, platforms, or even a clean visual. The teaser image is deliberately obscured, so there is no obvious hint whether this is another JRPG, an adventure game, or something completely different. What we do know is that the reveal is connected to a social media account called AnomalyZCO, which started posting on May 15, 2026.
That AnomalyZCO account is where things get interesting. Instead of normal game marketing, it has been uploading short videos about bizarre products supposedly made to “help” people. One video showed a candy bar that appears to affect emotions and mental states. Another featured a frozen ice bar that can influence someone’s body temperature. Then on May 19, the account suggested that these products may be subject to regulation, which feels like the campaign is wrapping up before the actual reveal.
Basically, FuRyu is not just dropping a logo and calling it a day. It is building a little weird-fiction setup first — fake products, odd side effects, and a company-like account that feels slightly too clean to be trusted. Very anime game energy, honestly.
Why SEA players should pay attention
FuRyu is one of those publishers that may not always dominate mainstream headlines, but JRPG fans in Malaysia and Southeast Asia definitely know the pattern. The company often works in that space between niche anime-style games, emotional RPGs, and slightly experimental concepts. Sometimes the games are rough around the edges, but when the idea hits, it really hits with the kind of audience that enjoys titles like Crystar and Crymachina.
This new mystery project also arrives during a busy FuRyu stretch. The company already confirmed a remaster of Exstetra, the former Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita JRPG, which is heading worldwide to PC. On top of that, FuRyu also announced Crymelight, a new entry connected to the Crystar and Crymachina line.
So this May 22 reveal means FuRyu currently has three projects in the pipeline. That is a pretty stacked run for fans of anime-styled RPGs and darker Japanese game concepts.
For Malaysian players, the big questions will be simple: will this get a worldwide release, will it come to PC or console, and will the pricing be reasonable on Steam or PlayStation Store? FuRyu’s niche titles can be a bit hit-or-miss locally depending on platform and regional availability, so a proper global announcement would matter.
What could it be?
Right now, there is not enough information to confidently call the genre. The AnomalyZCO teasers could point toward a sci-fi thriller, a psychological RPG, or even a game about corporate experiments and abnormal consumer products. The emotion-changing candy and body-temperature ice bar definitely suggest something more unsettling than a standard fantasy adventure.
Whatever it is, FuRyu has managed to make this reveal feel more curious than a normal teaser. We will know more when the game is officially shown on May 22, 2026.
