HIDIVE has started planting its flag for the Summer 2026 anime season, and its first major exclusive is very much aimed at the current isekai comfort-watch crowd.

The platform has confirmed that The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World will stream on HIDIVE this July as part of its Summer 2026 line-up. The catch for Malaysia and SEA fans? The announced territories specifically include the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and other international regions, but Malaysia has not been named directly for now.

So yes, this is one to watch — but also one where local availability might need a closer look once July gets nearer.

A cosy isekai instead of another demon-slaying grind

Based on Yoneori’s light novel, the anime follows Rin Takanashi, a caregiver in her late 20s who gets summoned as a saint, then basically gets abandoned in another world. Rough deal, bro.

But instead of turning into a revenge arc or kingdom-saving mission, Rin leans into a more chill survival fantasy setup. She has extremely powerful god-like abilities, a motor home nicknamed Mochan, and survival skills that let her enjoy solo camping, cooking, and travelling through a fantasy world.

That combination — isekai + food + slow-life travel — is exactly why this could land well with anime fans who want something lighter between heavier seasonal shows. Not every anime needs to be a tournament arc or final boss rush. Sometimes you just want fantasy camping, good food, and cute companions after work or class.

Staff, cast, and theme songs confirmed

The anime is being directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa, with animation production by EMT Squared in association with Ankichi Kobo. Takashi Aoshima is handling the scripts, while Kana Utatane is composing the music for Lantis.

Original light novel illustrator Akane Nitou is credited for the original character designs, with Izumi Ishii adapting them for animation.

The main voice cast includes:

  • Sora Tokui as Rin
  • Yuki On as Ville
  • Sumire Morohoshi as Aria
  • Shinnosuke Tachibana as Senon
  • Shoya Chiba as Ed
  • Kaede Hondo as Gomamiso

For the music side, the opening theme is “Butterfly” by INUWASI, while the ending theme is “Holy Sweet Home” by Onkan Lemonade.

Why Malaysian anime fans should care

In Malaysia, seasonal anime viewing is still heavily shaped by platform access. Crunchyroll, Netflix, Disney+, Ani-One, Muse Asia, and Bilibili-style regional availability usually decide what fans can legally watch without jumping through hoops.

That makes HIDIVE’s exclusives a bit tricky. HIDIVE has some strong genre picks, especially for fans who follow niche isekai, fantasy, and romance titles, but its footprint in SEA is not always as straightforward as bigger platforms. If The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World becomes one of those comfort-food seasonal hits, Malaysian fans may be waiting to see whether it gets wider regional access or ends up locked behind limited territories.

Still, the premise has strong “weekend anime” energy. Foodie isekai has been growing because it gives viewers the fantasy escape without requiring a full spreadsheet of factions, magic systems, and war politics. For fans who enjoyed cosy fantasy series, camp-cooking vibes, or low-stakes adventure, this one sounds like easy watchlist material.

HIDIVE has not announced the exact July premiere date yet, so expect more details closer to the Summer 2026 season.
