Holostars EN’s Goldbullet Is Building a Five-Episode Horror Series

Holostars English Vtuber Goldbullet is cooking something pretty different for the branch: an animated horror project called Hollow-Heart, and yes, it sounds like proper old-school spooky game energy.

In a Siliconera interview, Goldbullet shared that Hollow-Heart has actually been living in his head since 2023, before his Holostars EN debut. The spark came from his love for classic YouTube Let’s Play horror culture, especially games like Ao Oni and Yume Nikki. If you grew up watching creators scream through weird indie horror games at 2AM, you already know the vibe.

The project also picked up momentum after Holostars EN released its first visual novel, Doppelgänger. From there, Goldbullet started storyboarding his own horror concept, eventually shaping it into a five-episode animated series.

What is Hollow-Heart about?

Goldbullet described Hollow-Heart as an episodic horror series set in a separate timeline from existing Holostars EN canon. Basically, it is an alternate universe where the boys are thrown into dangerous, scary situations — and they may not behave like the versions fans usually know.

That is actually a smart angle. Vtuber lore can sometimes feel locked to character branding, but an alternate universe lets creators go darker, weirder, and more dramatic without breaking the main canon. For fans in Malaysia and SEA who already follow Hololive and Holostars clips through YouTube, TikTok, and fan subs, this could be the kind of project that gives the community plenty to dissect episode by episode.

Goldbullet said the series will run for five episodes, with lore-heavy writing and a visual direction inspired by B-movie horror. Expect something more stylish and handmade than polished Netflix anime, and honestly, that might be the charm.

Horror RPG look, early 2000s flavour

The visuals are being shaped around the feel of a horror RPG, with animation closer to early 2000s games. Goldbullet has already shown chibi sprites of Holostars EN members, and he said there are more detailed sprites and animations in development, including combat-related elements he is not ready to reveal yet.

His influence list is very clear: Resident Evil is a major one, with Dead Space, Silent Hill, Amnesia, and Outlast also feeding into the project. He also mentioned Danganronpa as an inspiration for UI and visual clarity, which makes sense if Hollow-Heart is leaning into a game-like presentation.

For SEA fans, that horror RPG direction hits a familiar sweet spot. The region has always had a strong appetite for streamable horror — from indie RPG Maker scares to co-op horror games that blow up in Discord groups. If Hollow-Heart lands well, it could easily become watch-party material for Holostars fans here.

Will Holostars EN members voice it?

Goldbullet did not fully confirm every detail, but he suggested fans can expect many of the members to test their vocal talents in the horror setting. He also said he will be directing them to fit the spooky atmosphere.

That matters because Vtuber projects live or die on personality. If Hollow-Heart can balance horror with the familiar chemistry fans already enjoy from streams, it could feel less like a side project and more like a proper branch event.

Release window and future plans

The current target for Episode 1 is Halloween 2026, though Goldbullet noted the date could move depending on development and other obligations. October is the goal for introducing the world of Hollow-Heart.

He also said the experience is teaching him project management while helping him sharpen his writing and art. His art styles include lineless work, flat illustration, and chibi artwork, all of which will appear in the series.

Goldbullet is also approaching his third anniversary as a Vtuber in 2026, and he teased that Hollow-Heart is his biggest push to deliver something the branch has not seen before.

For Malaysian Holostars fans, this is one to keep on the radar. It is not just another merch drop or standard stream event — it is a creator-led horror project with game DNA, Vtuber lore, and enough spooky timing to make October 2026 interesting.
