The upcoming TV anime adaptation of I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand has revealed three additional cast members, giving fantasy anime fans a better look at the supporting party around its July release window.
Based on the light novel series by Ezogingitune with illustrations by DeeCHA, the anime is adapted from the series known in Japanese as Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita. Yes, the title is long. Very light novel. Very “bro, just explain the whole premise in one sentence” energy.
The newly announced cast includes:
- Wakana Maruoka as Arone, a receptionist working at the Adventurers Guild Headquarters
- Yuuki Terui as Ario, an F-rank adventurer and countryside mage who meets Luck at the guild headquarters
- Akari Miyazaki as Ginny, Ario’s younger sister, also an F-rank adventurer, who fights as a bow-using scout
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this one is worth keeping on the radar if your comfort zone is fantasy guild setups, underdog adventurers, and light novel stories where the main character’s reputation goes completely out of control. The new characters also point toward a pretty classic adventuring-party structure: guild staff, rookie mage, scout sibling duo — familiar, but usually fun when the banter and progression hit right.
Behind the scenes, the anime is being directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe, whose past work includes Viper’s Creed, at studio Gekkō. Mitsutaka Hirota is handling series scripts, while Majiro is in charge of character designs. Taiki Okutani is credited as compositing director of photography.
The anime was originally planned for an April premiere, but its launch has been pushed back to July. According to the staff, the delay is meant to help deliver “an even more enjoyable work for everyone.” Basically, the production team is taking extra time before sending it into the Summer 2026 anime season.
That delay could actually help the show stand out better. April seasons are usually packed gila with big-name returns and hyped new adaptations. July gives this series a fresh shot at catching fantasy fans who are looking for something easy to jump into weekly — especially viewers in Malaysia who follow seasonal anime through simulcast platforms and social chatter.
The franchise has already built a sizeable base. The original web novel started on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in June 2018, before the light novel version launched its first volume in February 2019. The seventh light novel volume shipped in July 2022.
There is also a manga adaptation by Chaco Abeno, with composition by Kitsune Tennōji, which began on Square Enix’s Manga UP! service in August 2019. Square Enix published the manga’s 19th compiled volume on April 7. Across the series, circulation has passed 4.25 million copies, which is not small at all for a fantasy light novel property.
For English-reading fans in Malaysia and the wider SEA region, the manga adaptation is being released in English by Square Enix and Comikey, so there is already a route to check out the material before the anime lands.
No SEA streaming platform details were included in the announcement, so we’ll have to wait and see where Malaysian viewers can officially watch it when July comes around.
