Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is already moving, and MAPPA may have just dropped a visual that says way more than it first appears to.
After Season 3 landed in Winter 2026 with 12 episodes, the anime pushed past the wreckage of the Shibuya Incident and entered the Culling Game — Kenjaku’s brutal battle royale that basically leaves jujutsu society in pieces. Gojo is still trapped inside the Prison Realm, the sorcerers are scrambling, and even though his students have figured out a route to free him, the constant fights keep dragging everything out.
Season 4 is expected to finish the Culling Game arc, and MAPPA has already started teasing what’s next. A first teaser arrived in June, followed by a new Sukuna visual. On the surface, it’s the usual ominous Sukuna energy: the King of Curses submerged in water, looking like bad news for everyone.

That matters because manga readers know this is not necessarily Sukuna inside Yuji Itadori’s body anymore. In the later stretch of the Culling Game, Sukuna takes control of Megumi Fushiguro instead — a huge turn that changes the entire shape of the story.
And honestly, this twist hits so hard because it was not random. Sukuna has been interested in Megumi since very early in the series. During the Cursed Womb arc, he notices the potential in Megumi’s technique and lets him live. Later, during the Shibuya Incident, Sukuna even protects Megumi by defeating Mahoraga. Megumi’s Ten Shadows Technique is the prize.
