Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global has expanded its English manga catalogue again, this time with two fantasy-leaning titles: Fumi Itō’s Escape from the Seventh Night and Ume Koshida’s Daughter of the Dragon God.

According to Anime News Network, Escape from the Seventh Night was added in English on Monday, while Daughter of the Dragon God followed on Tuesday. Simple update, but for readers who track Square Enix manga through official digital channels, this is the kind of catalogue move worth noticing.

What got added?

The first title is Escape from the Seventh Night, known in Japanese as Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha. The manga comes from Fumi Itō and is connected to Takuma Sakai’s Nanoka no Yoru o Nukedashite light novel series, with character designs by Nanna Fujimi.

The series originally launched on Square Enix’s Gangan Online platform in October 2023 and concluded in 2025. Square Enix shipped the manga’s second compiled volume in September 2025.

The second title is Daughter of the Dragon God, or Ryūjin no Musume in Japanese, by Ume Koshida. This manga began serialization in Square Enix’s Shonen Gangan magazine in December 2023. Its third compiled volume shipped on July 10.

There is also a print note attached: Square Enix Manga & Books plans to release Daughter of the Dragon God in English print starting in March 2027.

Why this matters for Malaysia and SEA readers

Analysis: For Malaysia and Southeast Asia manga fans, the biggest point here is access and timing. A lot of us follow Japanese manga through a mix of official apps, physical imports, fan chatter, and social media recommendations. When titles enter an English digital catalogue, it usually makes them easier to discover legally, especially for readers who prefer not to wait for physical releases.

That said, let’s be clear: the source does not mention Malaysia-specific pricing, local print distribution, regional launch details, or any event tie-in. So don’t read this as a confirmed local retail update. What we can say is that Manga UP! Global adding more English titles gives English-reading fans another official route to keep an eye on.

The Daughter of the Dragon God print plan is also interesting because it shows Square Enix already has a longer English-language path mapped out for that title. Digital first, print later — that pattern is familiar in the manga space, and it gives collectors something to watch for, even if March 2027 is still quite far away.

Quick takeaway

If you use Manga UP! Global, you now have two more Square Enix titles to check out in English:

  • Escape from the Seventh Night by Fumi Itō
  • Daughter of the Dragon God by Ume Koshida

One is tied to an existing light novel series, while the other already has an English print release window planned for 2027. Not a massive announcement, but definitely a neat catalogue bump for manga readers who like keeping their fantasy queue stocked.
